Hey all, I'm trying to organize a March Madness style bracket tournament to predict the winners of this season's ESEA Open playoff teams. This thread is basically to gauge interest and possibly start the signup process. Let me know and I can add you to the group.
ENTRY FEE: 1 Key
PRIZES
-- 1st Place Wins -- 30 Keys (With 50 signups)
-- 2nd Place Wins -- 10 Keys (With 50 signups)
Bonus Prize Wins -- 10 Keys

(Multiple winners split key prize)
Here is the website for the Steam Group that explains the tournament:

At this time, I am not collecting fees or predictions because the playoff seeds are not set just yet. I am aiming for 50 signups but would still go ahead with just 40. If there is enough interest, I will set a deadline and begin collecting fees and predictions shortly.
rofl highschool was so long ago for me. One thing I vividly remember is all of us wanting to bang our guidance counselor. She was and probably still is incredibly hot. Best part was that she obviously knew we all wanted to bang her and she wore really revealing clothing because her tits were amazing. After seeing all these news stories about teachers and students having sex, it makes me sad. I would not have told anyone :)
Air_time for all the open teams who have non-neets to get fucked by bedtimes
I used to call Alosec's mom 2 seasons ago when our matches were late at night to assure her he was being properly chaperoned. All team captains should get parents numbers now before playoffs start.
tojoTery_So if we beat those 2 teams, but those 2 teams have more rounds than us, they go to playoffs? I apologize for my 5th grade reading level.tojostuff
You guys would need a lot of help in addition to supposedly sweeping your Granary games 10-0. With a 10-6 record and only 45 RF (in that scenario) a lot of teams are going to be ahead of you in both record and rounds. That's if you can win against Mumble Robots and Morin Than. If records are the same then RF is the deciding factor.
And I didn't write the article, SpaceCadet wrote it. I merely published it on TFTV with my article-posting privileges.
The reason I'm questioning it so much is because it would suck to not go to playoffs because of a team we beat based off of rounds.
Yes, chances are good that there will be several 10-6 teams, possibly 5 or 6.
Of those teams, likely 2 will qualify for playoff spots 15 and 16. "Rounds For" is going to determine who gets those spots. (if 2 teams are tied in Rounds For, then the team with less Rounds Against is ranked higher.)
ALT-F-XI like you too Tery_
Tery actually doesn't like you. I wrote this article and might have lied.
-nkoSpaceCadetI would be interested and think I can provide useful insight because I am much older than most of the community and have a whole lot more experience.actually, i would like to argue that competitive team fortress 2 cannot be related to ancient warfare tactics. it is pretty obvious that it is more relate-able to recent warfare, like vietnam and isis. i could go on but i'd rather save it for an interview .
I am also a history buff focused on ancient warfare tactics so that seems like a fit. If interested

I would disagree on that statement. All recent combat tactics were derived from ancient warfare and what we learned as time passed. Our generals and officers in training still learn from the tactics of ancient commanders and apply it to modern warfare.
OblivionageI would really like to help if possible. I have studied gorilla warfare tactics and, quite obviously, this can be related to the team fortress 2 spy class. I also have nearly a thousand hours on this class so I have a vast knowledge in espionage. Although it may not seem as realistic as the 6s competitive format, I believe firmly in the standpoint that a "spy" class can be extremely vital in the core of a military unit.

I do not mean to discredit you, but age should not dictate knowledge of this topic. Although I am only 14, (turning 15 in october) I am well educated in combat warfare and teamfortess 2.
I believe you got my references mixed up. I have been playing Team Fortress in one form or another since 1996, hence my experience in different game types as related to Team Fortress.
No offense to you, but since you are only 14, I have been playing competitive matches since before you were born. That doesn't make your POV wrong but you had my initial meaning incorrect.

thesupremecommanderIf we're looking at just this week, the magic number currently stands at 13 wins or 12 wins and 57 RF. The number will probably drop this week if/when certain teams take losses.
Strictly mathematical elimination this week is 9 losses or 8 losses and <16 RF. This number will similarly rise if/when certain teams take wins.
I always worked it out like this. The top 16 teams make playoffs, so you take the record of the #17 team and compare them to the #1 team.
In this case #17 is 8-4 with 36/28 rounds. Even if they win all 4 matches 5-0, the best they can be is 12-4 56/28. In contrast, if the first place team losses all 4 matches, they would still qualify for playoffs because they are 12-4 56/20.
That is how I figured Seendio as the only team to have currently clinched a spot with 12 wins. Every other team can potentially be caught by another team ranked 17th or below. Maybe I am looking at it wrong.
