OlghaWe're talking about a competitive game, not minecraft bro
I know that's aid to play against, but it's working well and what matters to me is to win, not having fun
This is all you really need to read in this thread to understand his point of view. He wants to have fun, everyone else can fuck off.
Once dudes like this are tolerated in pugs by being allowed to run pyro to mid, other ppl will have every excuse to run heavy/sniper/engi. This just leads to every single pug being unpleasant. I am very glad this is only an EU problem at the moment. :)
@Fragile, any chance for 2 tournaments for TF2 this time around? We could have a lot of signup's for this
This says for Ages 17+. Doesn't that disqualify like 60% of this community?
ReflectoSpaceCadetBringing this to RGB LanI've already ordered it. See you fuckers there. This game will be the real tilter test.

Screen carefully, sometimes that hi-def camera doesn't work in your favor. just saying

ondkajamidk bout that man, this season
a 6th place team beat a 5th place team
a 5th place team beat a 3rd place team
also a 4th place team beat a 2nd place team
sure not all of invite is completely competitive but outside of froyo its definitely not as cut-and-dry as u think
i do think once u get out of top 6 things get very onesided, though
That's not my point. The point is that you should spend the money getting 12 NA teams there on getting intercontinental teams so that you would have greater competition.
Makes no sense for a league based in NA to fly out EU players for a LAN.
The NA players in the Invite/Open divisions should not foot the bill for EU players to get a free ride in a league they don't contribute any money into or even play in.
I wouldn't be against watching 12 NA teams where 8-10 are of equal skill level fight it out. A lot of quality invite players are just hanging out in High Open right now because they don't want to pay invite fees or they lost motivation to keep going for the top. A new league with new prizes and a LAN could shake some of those high open sandbaggers into playing harder and putting more effort into the game again.
Tino_Not that it changes much but i am like 90% sure that rf/ra is counted before h2h.

Rounds "against" are never a factor.
mustardoverlordSpaceCadet#7 -- 11-5 (59) -- IWHYBD
#8 -- 11-5 (57) -- LWUMMD
#9 -- 11-5 (54) -- ILICCN
THE ACRONYM SQUAD NEVER LOSES
I blame saam
A small update before the matches tonight on how I predict the top 16 to be by the end of the season.
All Tie-Breakers, except mr popo and Velocity Black, have to be done by rounds for and not Head to Head.
Naturally, I have predicted some win/losses that could go either way but this is how I see it broken down:
#1 -- 15-1 (69) -- KRIT eSports
#2 -- 14-2 (67) -- mr popo -- (Beat Velocity Black H2H)
#3 -- 14-2 (63) -- Velocity Black -- (Lost to mr popo H2H)
#4 -- 13-3 (67) -- TwistedSinGG
#5 -- 12-4 (55-59) -- OMNI5 eSports
#6 -- 11-5 (59-62) -- EVIL
#7 -- 11-5 (59) -- IWHYBD
#8 -- 11-5 (57) -- LWUMMD
#9 -- 11-5 (54) -- ILICCN
#10-- 11-5 (53) -- DW12
#11-- 10-6 (57) -- Frick eSports
#12-- 9-7 (61) -- BLANC Esports
#13-- 9-7 (58-62) -- MAD LUXURIOUS
#14-- 9-7 (54) -- Faint Gaming Blue
#15-- 9-7 (49-51) -- kronge realm
#16-- 9-7 (49) -- Salty Seamen
A few teams could throw most of those bottom seeds for a shuffle with some key wins/losses.
If We Love Randall beats BLANC eSports tonight, the bottom half could look like this:
#12-- 9-7 (58-62) -- MAD LUX
#13-- 9-7 (54) -- FAINT
#14-- 9-7 (49-51) -- kronge realm
#15-- 9-7 (49) -- Salty Seamen
#16-- 9-7 (48) -- We Love Randall
Lastly, we have Milan effect. Their only chance at playoffs is to pull off an upset win in the final week of matches. If they finish at 9-7, they do not have enough rounds won to make the top 16. Milan effect play Omni5 eSports and MAD LUX. Both teams are a big challenge but if they are going to win a match it will likely be against MAD LUX.
Milan Effect vs MAD LUX is tonight and will likely decide if they can go 10-6 or not.
In truth, their are several other potential possibilities that can knock some teams out but they have such a small % chance of happening that I am not going to even mention them.
tambolooking to watch/kinda cast matches tonight, anyone have suggestions?
Guess it depends on if you care about playoff implications or just want to watch the best possible match.
popo / Omni5 is probably the best to cast for highest skill level between the 2 teams.
If you are interested in playoff bubble matches that matter:
BLANC vs We Love Randall -- BLANC loss and we are out of playoffs, a win and we are in playoffs. Randall needs to win to have any chance of playoffs but could still miss.
EDIT: actually after doing some number crunching between 9-7 teams, I think this one is all or nothing for both teams, the winner of this match tonight will almost assuredly make the playoffs.
Salty Seamen vs dead team walking -- Jag's team likely locks up a playoff spot with a win in this match.
Pancake-Waffle-Rifle vs Frick Esports -- PWR still have a chance for playoffs but need to pull off a big upset here and win all 5 rounds for a shot. Frick eSports is already in playoffs and locked into the 11th seed, they are playing strictly for fun in this one.
MAD LUX vs Milan effect -- The only chance for Milan effect to make playoffs is to win this match or the match against OMNI5. Might be interesting and fun to watch the attempt.

If anyone is looking to cast any matches with playoff implications, here are the choices for tonight:
Salty Seamen vs Undecided Team Name
Both teams are in the exact same position. 7-7 with 40 rounds. The winner of this game will likely win their final match and go 9-7 with a really solid chance at 15th or 16th spot.
This match, above all others listed, does the most for playoff implications tonight. Jag's team is the clear pick to win but who knows on Badlands.
OK Kids cannot make playoffs but clout up is right in the thick of 15th or 16th. Clout up needs to win every single game left and secure max rounds for any playoff chance. Could be a good match to watch.
Alcohol Anonymous vs StarStruck Gaming
Starstruck cannot make playoffs but AA has a very small chance to make 16th place if they get a lot of help from other match results. Either way, AA need to win this match to go 9-7 and have any chance at all.
These teams all make playoffs already, but they are better quality match-ups for casting IMO.
LWUMMD is in playoffs and MAD LUX could lock up their spot with a win. I expect this match to be very competitive and will clear up a lot of playoff placement once we have a winner.
Most likely the best / most competitive match of the bunch. Both of these teams should qualify for playoffs regardless of the outcome of this match but some seeding questions could be answered depending on the outcome.
kiaAfter matches won/lost, is seeding based purely on rounds for, or is it the ratio of your rounds for to your rounds against?
According to the posted rules:
Overall record then by
Head to head record then by
Highest amount of regulation rounds won
Single map playoff if all other tie breaker scenarios are indecisive
There is a grey area in these tie-breaker rules because of the small size of the TF2 divisions. Head to head tie-breakers typically only come into play when only 2 teams have the same record. When 3 or more teams have the same record (like this season's 9-7 teams will) the Head 2 Head records cannot advance 1 team ahead of all teams that have the same record because it is extremely unlikely all the tied teams played a round robin against each other.
example with only 1 playoff spot remaining:
Team A, B C and D are all 9-7
Team A beat Team C --- Team B beat Team A --- Team D did not play A B or C
Who advances? No team has a clear advantage over the other 3 teams, so Head to Head is bypassed just about every season because of this scenario.
In these cases, since Head to Head is indecisive, the only way to do the tie-breaker fairly is to skip Head to Head and go right for Rounds Won because that stat is universal for all teams.
