#169 ESEA S18 & TF2 in TF2 General Discussion

I understand the push to action by putting a deadline and all, but this season looks almost guaranteed to surpass the last few in terms of paying teams. Something like removing lan is a huge consequence, particularly when things look to be on the upswing.

#18 Enlighten me on which mouse I should get in Hardware

In regards to actual shape the Ninox Aurora is likely the closest. In regards to most similar dimensions, Zowie FK1.

Assuming you mean claw grip/low weight/light clicks that'd basically just be every other non-Zowie flawless sensor mouse with lower weight and smaller dimensions. If it's not large -> palm compatible like I listed everything else would likely fit claw.

Here's a nice reference list for you to look through if you like. There are a lot of inaccuracies/missing mice/updates needed etc. but it's more than sufficient for the average buyer looking around for mice with good sensors.

One mouse I'll point out is the Mionix Avior 7000, the dimensions, button placement, scrollwheel placement, etc. is really nicely placed for the average claw gripper. Back heavy but with claw gripping that's alright.

#12 Enlighten me on which mouse I should get in Hardware

With palm grip and being light your list is pretty short (at least in the realm of mice with flawless/near flawless sensors which is all I pay attention to). I'm classifying light as <90 grams. I can't comment too much on clicks for all of these, when you want light clicks that basically just excludes any Zowie selection.

CM Storm Alcor
Roccat Savu (with mod to reduce to around 80g and balance weight distribution)
Steelseries Kana V2 (might only be comfortable to palm if smaller hands)
And the old MLT04 microsoft mice (WMO/Intellimouse) but the Alcor shape is based upon these, so not a first choice

That's really all I could pull out, afraid there aren't too many in those larger dimensions for palming when staying light.

Could you specify some features you might want/require? E.g. how you grip your mouse (palm, claw, fingertip), side buttons, glossy plastic vs. rubber sides, weight, etc.

#38 Lange's thoughts on the state of competitive TF2 in TF2 General Discussion

The only bad things I can really think of are ESEA lan not being that great quality and CEVO dying. I think every time an ESEA lan is bad people complain about how terrible the game is/how top teams are stacked/game's dying. I'm not sure why that's being echoed on such a large scale this time around though.

Other than that CEVO dying should, in my opinion, be considered a good thing. It is unfortunate but I'll bet ESEA will have a good season especially if there's focus signing up teams/making everyone know about S18 coming up. I wasn't interested in CEVO but I'm on tf.tv a lot and I wasn't even aware that CEVO signups were almost up. I can't remember seeing one thing about it, and given how late ESEA lan got pushed back I figure that had something to do with people forgetting about CEVO S6. Of course I might've just missed a big thread but I'm pretty sure that's a general feeling shared among a lot of people.

Hell, even Mixup dying isn't really bad. You're not seeing official rosters yet or something like that there are some pretty good teams getting back into invite, and with basically another lan spot up for contention now I really think the top of ESEA should be good this season. I think people forget how close the race for that 4th lan seed was last season with Mad Men in the picture, probably because lan was delayed so long.

#17 tankman lft everything in Recruitment (looking for team)

For what it's worth from the few times I've pugged with tankman he's always come across as a cool, pleasant guy and seemed quite good as well. Good luck finding a team man.

#33 Split_ lft IM Scout/Med(?) in Recruitment (looking for team)

Just going to bump this one last time, I have an offer from a very pleasant team but I do have a preference to scout. Feel free to message me but I'll likely join a team within a few days if nothing new pops up as I wouldn't like to hold out on anyone.

#170 The Mouse/Mousepad Thread (last updated Sep. 9, 2013) in Hardware

Well presuming he's using an FK with 3090 and not FK1 hitting malfunction speed isn't too difficult at a lower sens, particularly when rocket jumping. As suggested make sure there isn't something like a strand of hair or dust that got tucked away next to the sensor, and possibly try jumping at a good bit faster sens and see if the problem still persists.

If it doesn't then you're simply going too fast for the FKs sensor at 14"/360*, so you could either permanently raise it or, presuming you're wanting to stick with the FK shape, the FK2 will be available for purchase within the next couple of weeks and retains the same dimensions while using a 3310 sensor (won't get into the tracking differences between 3090 and 3310 but the 3310 is generally considered better and has a good bit higher malfunction speed, so you should be able to use 14" with an FK2 absolutely no problem).

#13 ABS vs PBT keys (keyboard) in Hardware

WASDkeyboards is basically just overpriced since they allow you to order the custom color layout. UV coating doesn't really mean much in this context, they will still feel and last as long as ABS caps generally speaking.

Summary- not worth the money, unless you prefer the smoother feel of ABS caps and would like to pay a premium for a custom color scheme.

Proto personally added me and apologized very genuinely for posting which was quite nice of him. He was very regretful but we're cool and it's all fine. That said I am still looking so if any other teams would like to give me a shot please feel free to add me.
