Thing is, what can Pyro ever be?
It's always going to be fundamentally not fun to play against by virtue of its main impact being to set you on fire or airblasting you, whilst also obscuring your vision. All of those things are annoying and don't provide any interesting mechanic to try and play against.
I don't think there are any changes that they can do to stop that. Maybe an LG, but presumably that would have to set you on fire and it's essentially a fire minigun
It's sort of made me hate pyro even more. Airblasting rockets is so easy and that dragons fury is bollocks
But lots of contracts, nnew maps and some new weapons mean it's not a bad casual update. People are playing it and having fun. Casual games are pretty much informal comp matches since half of etf2l and UGC are grinding away at contracts. Most competitive pubs I've had in ages
Obviously we didn't get the mm or comp changes we wanted, yet. But it's not a bad update
Quest_yoStylaxHow do I extinguish with the jet pack on a server full of pyros?play with a friend and have them right click themselves with the cow mangler
Pls help
Oh that sounds fun
How do I extinguish with the jet pack on a server full of pyros?
Pls help
Can barely even get into a casual server
Predictably it doesn't fucking work at all.
Dyl4NI used to always play pugs and mge until I had scrims or a match but I would be very tilted or burnt out by that time. Now I just play whenever I feel like it then I mge for 30 mins before a scrim/match and I find I'm more consistent and focused.
Man you live the life.
I get home from work knackered, go straight into the scrim server, fuck around on soldier on a very different sensitivity and then switch to scout as the scrim is starting.
That and the work coffee shakes, make being in the zone pretty tricky
Tbh I wanted more (although they have said comp changes are coming)but I'm just grateful they still do updates like this and am looking forward to playing it.
Love the game and hopefully they've made it even better.
DollyPersonally for me uni has been by far the best experience of my life, granted it's early days but it has already taught me about myself and nurtured my drive for my career, would recommend. Student debt is not real debt.
Student debt is not to be taken likely. It works out being like a tax on your earnings and it's a lot
Going earlier means fuck all.
Know what you want first and have a good amount of money so that the experience is all the better.
To be fair, they've had a fucking good go at it.
Im only in open but here's some of the stuff I've learned in the short while I've been playing
Learn how to move well and avoid damage (air strafe, surf rockets and use props to jump on and off). Mastering the mechanics is huge and there isn't much substitute for mechanical skill. Especially at lower levels.
As tempting as it is, try to avoid the urge to just charge in and take every fight. Unless your dm is insane prioritise staying alive. Obviously don't bait your team but find the balance.
It depends if you play pocket scout ( with medic) or flank scout on how you ll play. If it's the former, try think about where threats to your medic and demo will come from, and don't leave then unless they're covered by teammates or under no threat. Try to get high ground when you can so you can see and also deny bombing soldiers. If you're a flank scout you want to be thinking about how you're going to get past their flank and in to hurt their combo or distract. Try to work closely with your roamer. Make sure you get buffed regularly
Aiming tips are hard to give. I will just say try to find a sensitivity you like and avoid rushing your shots in a panic. Aiming while moving well is the key
morwannegCaeligoodbye Soldiers :) pointless to play this class nowReplace with heavy to shut down airblast/jetpack spam pyros. This should be fun.
aaaand we've got Overwatch's rock paper scissors.
