flame 5. Have you considered the fact players can't spectate CEVO until 1pm without paying extra since you're starting at 9 and us plebians can't enter til 12 meaning we probably wont be settled in our seats until 12-1.
CEVO_Spangler 5) We have considered this and we will bring this up in a meeting today. Perhaps we can have spec passes extended for Friday at 9am for those simply in attendance for that but again, not my decision.
I'm bringing this up along with other things tonight in a GXL staff meeting. I can't promise anything for anyone to any of the concerns, but just know I'm trying my hardest. I appreciate everyone's concern (yes, even flame's), but please bear with me. My stress levels are through the roof, but I'm trying everything I can to please everyone and make this event great.
That being said, please don't fear that you'll be inconveniencing me by asking me a question. This is what I signed up for, and I'm here to help anyone as much as I can.
x3One serious question for The Fragile :3
Thank you for adding the catface :3
x3Regarding the seats, are gamers gonna be able to choose their seats and be with their teams? I remember seeing an old floor plan, couples months ago, is this still online?
There will be a TF2 area, but there will not be any assigned seating inside of this area.
I'll give it to him, he passed my Uber Rave score (which I don't even remember what it is). gj :p
NOW BEAT DASH HOPES 3 ON PAD.
flamei would like to point out with your current really well thought out schedule nobody can spectate the CEVO LAN finals until theyre 3 hours in.
It is very possible that the CEVO matches will start later than 9, but we just set it to 9 just as a safety net if we feel we need that much time.
I also don't get your passive-aggressive comments throughout this entire thread. I didn't make this schedule, and this is what CEVO set up for the schedule. So, if you have a problem with this "well thought out schedule," then you can personally message them instead of stirring up ridiculous drama publicly. Hell, you can just message me personally instead. That idea is too rational, though.
Moreover, I honestly don't even know what I did to you for you to be such a total fucking dick to me, but fuck you. I have almost 20 people messaging me per day as I try to help them out with whatever they need help with, spending countless hours of my own time and my own money to make this possible.
Still have a problem with all of this? Don't show up.
defyi don't know which one i purchased but i bought my ticket when they first went on sale and that was quite some time ago so i'm guessing thats the premature-LANer one?
No, the premature-LANer option is an additional option that you can buy to get in the event 12 hours earlier than the rest of the general public. It's an additional $15 on top of whatever the ticket price was at the time you purchased the ticket. If you can't remember, check your email and it should show if you purchased the premature-LANer option.
defyalso @fragile, what time is the venue open on thursday for us to come in and set up? probably going to be there in the afternoon
If you bought the premature-LANer option, then doors open for those people at 12:01 AM on Friday.
If you did not buy the premature-LANer option, then doors will open for everyone else at 12:01 PM on Friday.
Also, if you're on a team in the CEVO team list, I'm taking you off of the LFT list.
edit: I just slimmed down the list, so it should be much more accurate now.
Foxuh so since i've never been to a byoc lan before and am bringing a laptop, should i buy a laptop lock or something like that or is the venue going to be pretty safe to wander around while leaving my stuff around
i'm probably going to wander around a lot, but i feel like it'd be a pain if i have to pack/unpack all my stuff every time i want to go somewhere
I can't promise that you'll be totally safe, as sometimes people are shitty and steal things. However, when anyone first checks in at the event, you will have a badge printed out that will mark down everything you're bringing. When you leave the venue at any point, security will check your stuff to make sure you aren't leaving with anything you didn't come in with.
If you want to take caution, I would say you should probably take your laptop with you if you'll be gone for multiple hours / going to sleep at the hotel. Otherwise, I think you'll be fine, especially if you have some of your friends/teammates around your stuff.
pass Uber Rave on pad and we'll talk, yo
atmoFear and Loathing in Las Vegas.
While on the topic of that, how much more sense does the book make than the movie? The entire movie made literally no sense to me.
Sir_NicholausAlright guys, I took a leap of faith and am paid up. If anyone, *anyone* could give me a ride there let me know. Even if you have to make a bit of a detour, I can try and pay for the extra gas money required. Otherwise I'll have to book a rather expensive flight, and I'd rather not take my PC on a plane after all the horror stories I've heard.
Also, in the event that I do fly out there, is it possible for a resident of PA to give me a ride to the hotel? Thanks again in advance to anyone helping out. Feel free to message me here, or add me on steam!
Post where you live, bro. No one knows where you're located.
We are incredibly low on seats. This will almost certainly be the final line of tickets, which will probably run out tonight or tomorrow. Buy your tickets now. I also believe the price for these final tickets are $55. Do not wait, because I'm not making any kind of exceptions for anyone.
TurinAlso, due to events that I just learned of yesterday, I might be unable to go, but I can't confirm it until after the refund deadline. If it turns out I can't go I will try to give it to someone that needs a ticket.
dflameIf anyone ends up not being to go and would like to sell their ticket contact thrasher or myself. We need 3 tickets if possible. Thank you.
ThickneySelling ticketto.
Tickets are not transferable.
freakinxlr8Im still confused about the ticket pricing, the thread says its 20 per person, but the ticket vendor says its 15 for spectator, and 50 for an individual. If someone could clear this up, that'd be great. The part of the thread that says $20 is talking about the tournament buy in, but I believe it was changed to $10 and Nick just missed editing that part of the post. Someone correct me if I'm wrong on this.
It is $50 to attend the LAN as a player, or $15 as a spectator. The tournament buy in is completely separate from and in addition to this.
freakin is correct. The tournament fee has been updated in the FAQ since the change about two months ago. I didn't feel like going through 18 pages of posts to edit out any old discussion about it.
Tickets opened back up. When the event totally sells out for good, spectators passes won't be able to be bought.
So really, just buy your ticket now and don't worry about this becoming an issue for you.
