Nah, you'll be fine. From what I was basically told, we would have the LAN as big as we wanted. If we decide to cap it off at a limit, then everyone will know immediately with great urgency and a lot of time to spare.
However, if anyone has any intention on going, just buy your ticket now. The ticket price will rise another $5 in a month or so (I think that's the final rise in price), but you can always get a refund until two weeks from the event.

What's wrong with using Google's public DNS? I use it, even though the DNS automatically assigned to me beforehand worked just fine too.
flamedisable the wireless adapter and the ethernet adapter in the connections window thing
then re enable the ethernet adapter
and then do an ipconfig /reset /renew in cmd prompt.
also: ipconfig /flushdns
can't hurt, considering you're having DNS issues.

We are currently looking into getting computers for players to use at the event, but I'll put up those lists if that idea falls through.

You can start putting out your interest now, but I'll make a team list in the coming months. Next to that, there will be a "looking for team" list that you can put yourself in if you're still looking.

If I were to go straight to GXL from work on Thursday, would I be allowed into the facility to talk with friends that evening? Do I HAVE to have a special pass for that?
You would have to buy the pass (Premature LANer) to come in early, even if it's just to talk to friends. However, people who help us with setting up stuff during Thursday night will get free a premature LANer pass.

You pay the extra $20 at the event.
If you don't have a team and you want to play in the tournament, there will certainly be teams looking for an extra player or two, perhaps even pug teams being made at the LAN itself. Don't worry, everyone will find a team.
