TerywjThat was way too laggy for me. Was I supposed to scroll the entire time?
After you fall into the ocean, yeah. It gets progressively harder.
Ggglygy"sure thing"
doesn't exist
This. There are frequent upsets in both NA and EU scenes. A 30% underdog will unquestionably make an upset before you make enough money off of your .50 cent earnings to make up for it.
manaslackedAre there gonna be any other games than TF2 happening?Fragile is going to announce the official games played at GXL soon, but obviously you can play whatever with whomever, otherwise.
There will be other games on Friday and Saturday, but if you're participating in the TF2 tournament on Saturday, you are not allowed to play in anything else until you've been eliminated. We are going to have no delays this tournament.
However, feel free to play in anything on Friday. :]
industAnybody need to get picked up along the way? I start from Minnesota.
I'll put you down on the carpool list, just give a Google maps path that I can post.
radiumunfim not sure if it was already addressed, im buying my plane ticket this week and i need some info
are most people who are going arriving on thursday or friday?
do we have hotel info yet to book a room?
do i need to know anything specific when flying in?
do i need a cab from airport?
is there anything fun to do if i come thursday or do i just jerk off in the hotel room until friday?
1. Last year's GXL had people arriving between later Thursday night to early Saturday morning. This one will be far bigger - so arriving on Thursday or early Friday will actually make a lot of sense.
2. GXL does allow you use the facility to sleep (it's a BIG convention hall). Hotel details will be updated at a later time (I think fragile's on it)
3. Nothing special here, just have a buddy take you to the facility from the airport.
4. Use a fellow gamer and buy him a drink.
5. If you arrive Thursday, you'll get to chill with the "early bird" people that paid $15 to setup a day early.
Nailed it.
But yeah, please don't show up on Saturday morning unless you're certain you can get there before the tournament starts. I am going to be very strict about not letting the tournament start late due to people being late/delayed.
bl4nki heard memphisvon might be attending and i still need to have a drink with that man before i die
He's paid and ready to go :]
RJAfter trying my best at getting everything squared away, I can't go to this thing. :'(
Any knowledge of how to return my ticket? I've never used the GXL site before.
Q. I paid, but I can not make it to the event. What do I do?
A. Refunds will be given up until two weeks before the event. After the two week cut off, we can not issue refunds due to monetary commitments for the event. You can transfer your reserved spot to a unpaid friend by contacting info@thegxl.com with specific information.
So yeah, you can sell it to someone else or just get a refund. Just email info@thegxl.com
danAndersoncopy pasted from my post on ETF2L regarding TEZC to attend GXL.
TEZC are doing some number crunching to see what is possible before we start asking for some spare change, that said we are seriously keen on attending! We had so much fun in Lithuania and met some really cool people, I’d like to think that we would have equally as much fun in Philly.
If anyone can help with general info etc. please add me
Dan
Adding you.
GgglygyFanofAngelsThis isn't gonna be a popular opinion but if you get something donated to you, you should be able to do what ever you want with it. You didn't have to give it to them.
in b4 One Step Camp get a ton of cocaine.
ROFL
Foxdidn't xts confirm their sponsor is sending all of them to gxl
No(t yet).
dashnerStreet Hoops is more or less confirmed, no?
Well, 5 of them are paid, lol.
MGEMikeany real invite teams going?
Possibly. I know some have expressed interest.
Super-when you look at the games that the flyers play, you do notice how hard they struggle trying to get the puck out of the zone. i agree with you that they have big difficulties with positioning and clearing. once they clear out of the zone, however, as i mentioned before, another thing the flyers do is play around with the puck for way too long. they never take shots, and eventually they are back at square one, having issues clearing the puck. you are right about their defense, but they have other issues that add up on top of their defense that hinders them greatly.
And I agree, it's just that 99.9999999999% of Philadelphia fans are firm believers that their quarterbacks and goaltenders are they reason why they lose every year, which is hilarious.
Super-TheFragilein some situations, its the lack of hustling or lack of taking shots on net, but sometimes like the hurricanes game, when you let 3 goals through the five hole, it gets a little ridiculous at some points. is it too late to take back bernie parent?erkstonSuper-ok so maybe if mason can recover from his injury the flyers can win but if not oh well dream is dead ripgoaltending was definitely not the reason for the loss
The truth that 99% of Flyers fans don't want to admit for almost 15 years now.
It's not that letting a goal in through five-hole is embarrassing or should never happen.
The Flyers have had very good offense for a very long time, and actually very good goaltending as well. Their defense is what kills them. Their defense is laughable, which is why you see their goalies get shit on. If you put any top 3 goalie in the Philadelphia net, I promise you'll see a very similar result to what's happening to them now.
Bobrovsky is an integral part of Columbus, Emery (when he got traded to Chicago) set an NHL record and won a cup with Chicago, and Bryzgalov is making Minnesota a very real threat. Yet, I didn't hear one good thing about any of them in Philadelphia because their fans are so painfully critical of their goalies. Though with the Bobrovsky, Emery, and Bryzgalov examples I just gave above, what do all of those teams have in common?
A solid defense.
Oh, and when Philadelphia picked up Pronger, they almost won a cup the same year. Then he got injured, and then they fell off. Hm, weird.
