#45 Dolphin: Wii/Gamecube Emulator in Off Topic

I have two questions:

1. How resource intensive is this? My potato can run tf2 at max settings just fine, yet for whatever reason pcsx2 can be rather taxing(though that might simply be from lack of optimization).

2. Can a ps3 controller work with this thing? I'd imagine it can not, however if it could that would be very convenient.

shlanerjust play mge.it and then you filter out the counter jumpers who want their points

You would think, but some people apparently just like counter jumping or whatever.. plus there are some soldier's that when someone jumps up right next to them, they reactivatly shoot the ground right in front of them, or close enough for the splash to propel them upwards which is pretty close to counter jumping, not as blatant and most likely not the intentional, but the results are similar.

#47 Apple in Off Topic
visitnigIphone caters to a entirely different niche in the market and the things they come out with are perfect for those population(high school girls, seniors)[/b], but upgrading to 4s or 5s is simply not worth it.

What? Apple caters to businesses and corporation as much if not more than any other phone producer. most android phones don't have the backing in terms of marketing and production that apple can bring to the table. Just an example that comes off the top of my head is.

Pepsico, a lot of their distribution(and a lot of their marketing and manufacturing departments) DSL's got Ipads with work since apple literally made an APP specifically for the distribution and computer system that pepsico employs, and well if 90% of your work is based upon An I pad it's logical you'd get a phone as closely compatiable with your ipad as possible. And since the company offers phone plans to their DSL's(and pays halfway since small format DSL's in metropolitan areas spend 20+ hours a week on phone calls with customers or corporate etc etc) They of course get cheaper deals on iphones through AT&T.

Apple approaches pretty much every fortune 500 company with similar plans/options, and sure samsung/android can attempt it, but it's hard to beat apple's offers since they manufacture out of china, for jack shit, and the Kaesong plant has been down for months now which has been hurting samsung as well(though it's set to reopen soon). Teenagers might be a nice market for them, but large corporations are the bread and butter, especially if you package in mac's and ipads. Hell UBS(where i worked/work) was literally handing out Mac Towers from like 2010 that at release were sold for like 2,000+ dollars because they decided to upgrade all their computers(i can't even begin to fathom how much they fucking spent on 250-300 new towers+ipads and integrating their investment data/software into a new computer system)

EDIT: if you want talk to horse about it, he's an intern over there now and i *think* he worked on the Iphone 5(not sure since he wouldn't release details but said his project would be announced early september..)

#14 does anyone know anything about blood clots? in Off Topic
SalamancerI'm afraid shoutcasting is not a medically valid procedure for the treatment of bloodclots. Otherwise I'd be a goddamn humanitarian or something.

Hmmm you should file it next April 15th and see what what you can get out of it.

#7 MGE or DM in TF2 General Discussion
zodiacJust a discussion i'm was curious about, For me it's DM cause i find it more relaxing and fun while MGE gets stressful

heh it feels like the opposite for me, DM has so many uknowns, and spontaneous fighting trying to just keep track of it all is stressful to me. MGE is pretty straight forward and you can generally hear their spawns.

Anywho it really doesn't matter MGE only requires 2 people though so at like 2 or 3 am it's easier to get going. And atleast for me it's a bit more fun.

sky_My DBQ was on Nixon. My class didn't even get to Nixon so everything I wrote was off shit I remembered from drunk 3am wikipedia browsing

That was the 2011 DBQ iirc, teachers and tutors and shit aren't suppose to know about the questions but we end up finding em anyways, the documents were awful, and nixon's era generally isn't suppose to be used for documents since there's a lot of things got classified stamps thrown onto them, and the information in general about his terms is cloudy. That question was a bitch, even if your teacher had met the curriculum you'd probably have to infer and bullshit a lot of it.

I don't think it has to do with them projecting(i believe that would be the correct term, correct me if i'm wrong) their own insecurities about the world, or that they don't like them because it makes them realize harsh truths about themselves..

Pretty sure a lot of it is religion(hell a lot of anti-gay marriage people don't actually hate gays they just don't it to be labeled as a marraige for religious reasons), or just a feeling of "unnaturalness" or deceptive i.e.) the photo's waffleB posted most people probably don't want to imagine a 6 inch hairy schlong hanging from the girls privates, for a lot of people it probably sends shivers up their back, and since humans are by nature rather emotionally driven they don't really approve of something that disgusts them.

@Ranga if depends on how big, if we're talking like elephantitis most people probably are laughing you, or disgusted by it.

your posts are leading me to believe that transgender people are inherently suicidal before they "transition." Is this true???

Yea it kind of is, transgender people are some of the most emotionally unstable people around, first they feel "out of place" their whole life than they have a whole gender confusion problem, and most of them don't exactly accept it easily and right off the bat.

And when they actually do go into the hormone therapy shit just explodes they're already some of the most emotionally unstable people, and than they purposely bring in many times the amount of chemicals their body is producing( there's the whole hermaphrodite tans gender category that actually are producing both, and need to actually suppress one or the other but it's rarer).

Basically the transgender people in general(not all of them by any means) are a whirl wind of emotions and hormones for a long long period of time.

Which is generally why i avoid transgender people like wild fire, not because i have anything against the concept(hey it's your body do w/e you feel is natural..) but more so because the execution of it all is a large pain in the ass, and I'm "emotionally insensitive" a.k.a. an emotional potato and they get offended really easily.

#17 Dodecagon LFT scout in Recruitment (looking for team)
capnfapngood dm and always a nice guy. idk why he thinks he overextends a lot. i never noticed that but im dumb.

In the past he use to, never really was a problem in pugs, or when he rang but he had a problem with it before, he's probably gotten over it though, or lowered the times he does it.

Pretty good scout, good guy, definitely a solid pick up, and he's the worlds greatest medic ever!

Also just a warning for his future teammates he's very fragile :) he sprained his wrist playing osu.

dellortsave space for old post

You have to keep in mind energy doesn't come from nowhere(I'm sure you knew it bust still :p) If you're sleep deprived at the very least you'll need more energy simply for the hours you're awake that a normal person is asleep, but more so if you don't get *close*(sleep patterns are absurdly individual specific, but still) you're going to have to make up the energy somewhere and that usually comes in the form of your standard diet(i'm actually curious about whether something like energy drinks can fill in, in terms of long term, short term they can kind of band aid fix it, but i wonder what happens in terms of long term sleep deprivation) And usually you make up with it by upping your calorie intake.

So the whole "office calisthenics" requires more than what's the recommended for someone who's getting the usual 7-8 hours and taking in your average male's 2500 calories or what have you(i think that's a bit unrealistic i mean assuming i sleep an average amount I'm suppose to take in 3,000)

I honestly don't know how much would be required to lose weight, i'm not a nutritionist or anything. Mostly i know what i know simply because our corporate overlords has us attend little seminar-esqe lectures/talks about attempting to keep your body relatively close to 100% because a good chunk of the employee's have to function during switzerland's work hours since that's where HQ is, and others have to keep up with various market opening and closings. So i'm curious exactly how much exercise you have to ingrain into your regular day(to be fair a quite a few people walk like 2-3 miles a day in between bus changes trains etc etc, but a lot of people also drive..)

EDIT: lol wow i'm way behind apparently this thread is now an argument/debate about transexuals.

dellortboppetHonestly, I like these kind of threads, it gives the people something to talk about and debating and discussing is really cool as long as no one gets angry or heated. I personally would love a section on the forum for debates, the animation forum I used to regular at had one, and the members debated a numerous amount of controversial issues, like religion, gay marriage, the use of the word "nigga", legalizing marijuana, piracy, etc. It's another way for people to get to know each other.
I agree, most people see these threads as negative (I think back to when the documentary was released and we debated whether or not the cost of the high quality version was justified or not), but in fact they're probably the best way for people to develop their skills in debating, learn of the opinions of others (and perhaps incorporate some of those ideas into their own opinions) and many other things. I especially appreciate June's posts because he often brings out harsh opinions in a very blunt/rude manner, and while it perhaps isn't the most meaningful way to post it definitely is effective in starting debates.

heh i know people how have slept in the office for 2-3 days straight right now, and during work hours we are completely logged(since we charge based on man hours, and you'll definitely get fired if it's discovered you went and took a jog when you were suppose to be working)

And i know quite a few nurses who work absurd hours sometimes coming close to the 120 hour in a week mark. There's also the fact that people have kids, you can't exactly tell your SO "yea watch the kids all by yourself i'm gonna go hit the gym for the few hours a week that i'm actually home" The best i can think of is running to and from work(which if you commute like 6+ mils away isn't really plausible) It's probably possible but at the cost of missing time with your children, or SO is a pretty crazy cost.

I personally don't have this problem at all, i work and go to school the rest of the time is my own, but if i was employed full time(getting accounts instead of doing grunt work) and i had a family i could easily see my self dropping 10-15 pounds of muscle.
