ESEA S30 POWER RANKINGS
WEEK 3 – THE CURSE

#1 THEORY OF KNOWLADGE [5-0] (meatball, phone, reflecto, faust, stock, fab)
After only dropping a total of 5 rounds over 5 matches this team has proven that they are very much at the top of the division. Thye have yet to play either of the other top 3 teams as of yet, but I am expecting them to win out against both Ojama and Excellent Adventures.

#2 OJAMA COUNTRY [6-0] (wish, perfection, crab_f, dev, lizar, toy)
They have yet to play ToK but have beat every other top team so far. Not much else notable this week other than them potentially killing FAINT after their 15 min 5-1.

#3 EXCELLENT ADVENTIRES [4-1] (dippidy, nazara, dongus, hayes, mustard, pablo)
Yet again, not too much interesting to say. Have not played ToK, but have beat all other top teams but Ojama. No change in rank.

#4 REDEMPTION ARC [4-2] (cember, scratchh, shuckle, air, tasheem, virgil)
Jumping up 4 spots this week is Redemption Arc. After a 5-3 win over Team Now and a 3-5 loss to ToK the pickup of air has proven to do a lot of good for them. It remains to be seen if air will be able to carry them into the top 3, but the team is much better after the roster changes.

#5 TEAM NOW [3-3] (saam, esper, digi, froot, earthworker, lolguy)
With a loss to redemption arc Team Now is dropping another spot down to #5. Honestly this is more or less where I expected them to end up after the first couple of weeks. I don’t believe they will drop much farther at this point and am willing to call them the gatekeepers of high IM.

#6 BUMBOLOGY (FORMERLY THE TOTLINGS) [3-2] (ryan, nate rivers, cody, vaati, morsca, dylan)
This is probably a VERY drastic move at this point in time but with Bumbology picking up midas on scout I am willing to move them up 4 spots for this week into 6th. Currently I believe that the 6th/7th spot will be a fight between the Goblins, Bumbos and Dunk Masters.

#7 GOBLIN ZONE [4-1] (jetz, rain, grape juice, unicorn wizard, hedge, charis)
The Goblins have yet to play any of the top teams this season. But they are looking quite good at this point in time with a 5-2 win over PWR. The real test comes in their next 3 matches, we will see if they are able to cause any upsets or if they stay on the playoff bubble.

#8 PANCAKE-WAFFLE RIFLE [3-3] (x3noxide, animus, Change, fygg, bowl, Tomato tom)
Moving PWR up this week because FAINT has self-destructed

#9 RHDP [3-3] (ult, cinder, ed, playmo, peniferous, mu)
With a closer 5-3 loss to Bumbology I think this team is starting to wake up a little but the upcoming game against Dunk Masters will really show what they are capable of. If they have a close game, or take the game I think they should probably move into the top 8, if not bubble spot. Their next game is a real test of their skill IMO.

#10 BD ENERGY [2-3] (raph, apt, SpaceCadet, aZn, jag, tsar)
Move up due to FAINT, nothing else interesting to say.

#11 DUNK MASTERS [4-1] (legit, shiny, saila, jeff, makkabeus, XBS)
JEFF is a retard and wanted to be placed at #11 for the memes, realistically I put them around the 5th/6th slot and just move the rest of the rankings down a single place.

#12 FAINT GAMING [2-4] (june, crasian, reyylin)
After the loss to Ojama, FAINT more or less imploded. With the loss of Ninjax, Exile, Link and myself the team has lost most of its fragging power and direction. I know Crasian is trying to rebuild the team to playout the season, but I don’t really see this team breaking into playoffs anymore but depending on the pickups they could be top 10. If they manage to survive that is probably a win in and of itself at this point in time. Best of luck Crasian.

#13 PORTLAND BLACKSIDERS [2-4] (chaseduck, syntax, botboy, screwb, azion, lorgon)
After a very close 3-2 win over Another Day this past week I am keeping this team at #13, but I don’t think they are solidly at the top of the bottom 4 anymore. I am guessing that any of the bottom 4 teams will be taking games off of one another and it really just depends on the day.

#14 DOUBLEPLUSGOOD [1-4] (duke, lecrum, khil, prograde, arzt, osplo)
Nothing to say about this team for this week. Matches against the remaining 2 bottom 4 teams upcoming in the next few weeks.

#15 MR FUNNY ALIEN ESPORTS [0-6] (owib, zanda, jelq, el farmo, ipaka, tuba_god)
Managed to take some rounds off of Dunk Masters. Not sure what happened there tbh, but I don’t really think it shows much at this point in time. Not moving the bottom 4 around much this week so they stay at #15.

#16 ANOTHER DAY AT THE OFFICE [0-6] (aquila, drums, Jenkins, taiga, Lysol, sharkitect)
They took rounds off of a team! But being serous this shows that they are not totally flaccid in their play and can actually hang out in the bottom of IM. Interested to see the remainder of the games against the bottom 4 teams.

Tbh worried as fuck due to EA being EA, but that being said I do have some (probably misplaced) faith that respawn can actually pull through all of the EA bullshit and make a proper game rather than a cash grab.

Overall this is probably one of the most polished games to actually release, it feels finished rather than a beta test and that is amazing to me considering today's FPS climate. Obviously there is some balance issues (wingman fucking broken to all hell) but the game not only has a really solid foundation but also a 1 year road map already so this shows that respawn is looking ahead and looking out for the game and community. iMO this could possibly be the fist BR that is actually viable as an esport due to the team play and the base mechanics.

Now that I have more time on my hands I am thinking I might do more in depth weekly rankings. In case there are any IM team captains that want to have a feature done on their team please contact me. Also, I will be focusing on the top 8 teams rather than all of IM, but I am willing to do something for any team that wants to if there are not enough people interested.

Paid up for IM. Honestly I dislike playing TF2 at this point in time, but I like some of the people and might be willing to still sub if asked. Beyond that I can say for almost certain this will be my last season.

Goblin zone in 5th is more of all the other teams moving down then them actually moving up. But id actually extend that 5th-8th out to 5th - 10th and say they are all going to be really close this season.

ESEA S30 POWER RANKINGS
WEEK 2 – RANKS DON’T MEAN ANYTHING

#1 THEORY OF KNOWLADGE [3-0] (meatball, phone, reflecto, faust, stock, fab)
Theory of Knowledge is being moved up into the top spot. Not only have they picked up possibly the best med in the division this season, but they have also only dropped a single round over 3 matches. This team should be able to ride the #1 spot all the way to semis before they really have any issues. Especially considering all of the interesting games that have been played out over the past week.

#2 OJAMA COUNTRY [3-0] (wish, perfection, crab_f, dev, lizar, toy)
After the fall of Team Now I am moving Ojama up into 2nd spot for this week. After a very close 5-4 against Excellent Adventures in weeks prior I feel like should be able to edge out Team Now as it sits currently. I am well aware that that the transitive property means shit all in TF2, but a close game against a team that led a 5-1 blowout is usually a pretty safe bet to take.

#3 EXCELLENT ADVENTIRES [4-1] (dippidy, nazara, dongus, hayes, mustard, pablo)
Staying at #3, but jumping ahead of Team Now this week is Excellent Adventures, after a 5-1 over Team Now on metal they have proved that they are very much a solid top team. Theory of Knowledge is really the only other team that they should have to prove themselves against, but I don’t see anyone overthrowing Theory currently and I expect this team to sit around #2/#3 for the rest of the season.

#4 TEAM NOW [3-1] (saam, esper, digi, froot, earthworker, lolguy)
Moving down to 4th overall currently is Team Now. I said at the start of the season that I was unsure if they would be able to maintain the top spot for long, but I did not expect them to get 5-1’d by dippidy and co. I think it is very possible that we will be seeing them fall even further down the rankings in the coming weeks depending on how the other teams start to shape up. I dont see them falling out of the top 6, but I don’t think they are as safe at the top as I originally thought.

#5 GOBLIN ZONE [2-1] (jetz, rain, grape juice, unicorn wizard, hedge, charis)
With other teams moving down this week the Goblins are moving into 5th position. I am really tentative about this ranking for them as they so far have really only “proved” themselves against a super questionable FAINT and I am unsure how much that actually counts for at this point in time. With a 5-0 blowout vs Theory and expected a 5-2 win over Blacksiders they have yet to really show they are able to hang in the top 5, but with all of the other changes this week I don’t really have any other place to put them.

#6 FAINT GAMING [2-3] (ninjax, link, june, crasian, exile, tino)
FAINT… What am I going to do with my own team? FAINT is still an absolute disaster by most accounts, with scrim and match results being all over the place and changing more frequently than a weeb and what show they are watching they are currently very hard to place. FAINT has been having very close scrims with some of the top 3 team in IM and the recent via game had every single round go into OT even though it was a 4-1 loss, but then we also go and lose 5-0 to Redemption Arc. FAINT will probably make playoffs but at this point in time it seems to be a really rough road to top 8.

#7 DUNK MASTERS [3-0] (legit, shiny, saila, jeff, makkabeus, XBS)
I am dropping the Dunk Masters down to 7th spot this week. It might be a little a little premature to do something this drastic, but as of yet they have only played the bottom IM teams and are dropping scrims to teams like FAINT. They should still be a playoff team, but where they actually end up is harder to peg down without them actually playing some of the higher ranked teams.

#8 REDEMPTION ARC [3-1] (cember, scratchh, shuckle, air, tasheem, virgil)
Redemption arc is also moving up the rankings this week. With a 5-0 against FAINT and a win against PWR they are showing that they are either a decent team, or that FAINT and PWR are just bad. I am probably giving my team too much credit at this point, but the match against FAINT was probably more of a FAINT loss than a Redemption win, but the PWR match holds more weight in my mind. Feel free to crucify me for this.

#9 PANCAKE-WAFFLE RIFLE [2-2] (x3noxide, animus, Change, fygg, bowl, Tomato tom)
With this team having good showing against The Totlings I am moving them up the rankings this week. I feel like they can possibly end up in playoffs by the end of the season but them dropping rounds to teams like Double Plus isn’t a great sign.

#10 THE TOTLINGS [1-1] (vaati, nate rivers, cody, megawac, morsca, rocket)
I am unsure what the 4-3 loss in OT to PWR actually means against this team. I said previously that PWR was another team with good players that should be able to really contend, but the loss could also mean that The Totlings are much weaker than I originally thought. Slotting them in at #10 this week, but I am not really confident with this team or ranking at this point in time.

#11 BD ENERGY [1-2] (raph, apt, SpaceCadet, aZn, jag, tsar)
Not much to say about this team currently with loses to both the Totlings and dunk masters I am not really thinking that they will actually be able to break into playoffs this season.

#12 RHDP [1-2] (ult, cinder, ed, playmo, peniferous, mu)
With 5-1 losses to both Ojama and FAINT this past week, this team seems to have many issues with it. #12 might be a little low for them currently, but I want to see them play some of the teams closer to them in the rankings before I move them too much.

#13 PORTLAND BLACKSIDERS [1-3] (chaseduck, syntax, botboy, screwb, azion, lorgon)
The team of 2-5 finishes it seems, This team will probably be the winners of the thunder dome at the bottom of IM but I cant say I have really been paying much attention to most of the teams down there.

#14 DOUBLEPLUSGOOD [0-3] (duke, lecrum, khil, prograde, arzt, osplo)
They might be 0-3, but they have been able to take rounds off of the teams they have been facing so there is some positives for the doubleplus squad. But with a loss to backsiders I don’t see them moving up in the ranks.

#15 MR FUNNY ALIEN ESPORTS (Formerly CLASSIC JELQUP) [0-4] (owib, zanda, jelq, el farmo, ipaka, tuba_god)
Still don’t know any of these players, but with only a single round taken in 4 matches so far I don’t think they will make it out of the bottom this season.

#16 ANOTHER DAY AT THE OFFICE [0-4] (aquila, drums, Jenkins, taiga, Lysol, sharkitect)
The other team that has only taken a single round in 4 games played. Not much else to say currently.

Well it seems i have something to actually write about now rather than just pulling non-statements out of my ass. Thanks.

Probably better for solly than scout because you can fuck your jumps and strafes by movement canceling where as having super choppy movement on scouts is a good things because you become annoying as fuck to hit and predict due to move speed. Sollys are also slow as shit so they cant abuse the move speed stutter step.
