#24 Easiest way to turn a demo in to a youtube video in Q/A Help

If what you want is a pov, and you have the .wav output from mumble, all you need to do is start the demo, and type this in the console

host_framerate 30; startmovie a_movie_

You'll get a lot of frames in your /tf/ folder. Then Vdub it together, which will take some time. I don't see why people only use this method for HQ videos, it's nice if you just want a framerate that does not stutter.

#4 Sniper looking for pointers in Mentoring

Play sniper in DM if it's allowed. Don't sit as far back as you can, practice midrange flick shots on scouts/soldiers. You'll get about one hit for every ten deaths at first, but it's really gratifying.

#3 Ambient noise in TF2 General Discussion
Swivelstopsound in console, I think.
] stopsound
Can't use cheat command stopsound in multiplayer, unless the server has sv_cheats set to 1.
] stopsoundscape
Can't use cheat command stopsoundscape in multiplayer, unless the server has sv_cheats set to 1.

I know I said in a local server, but it's still annoying when waiting for a pug to start or something

#1 Ambient noise in TF2 General Discussion

Is there any way to disable it? It seems to be a part of a lot of maps, just a constant background noise which seems to get louder when nothing is happening. Annoying when you're in a local server or something and you alt-tab and have to mute your game to watch a video someone linked you or something. I know you can disable game sound while not tabbed in, but when you play in windowed/noborder mode it's sometimes useful to have sound on.

#22 Razer Comms in TF2 General Discussion

I'm sitting in the channel Kinch made, would be interesting to get someone else in here and do some quality tests and stuff. If this is on-par with mumble it could be useful.

Also, is the g300 any good? Looks kind of small from the pictures, but at least it's wired.

The irony of this is that ATM means Automatic Teller Machine :>

#3 C++ Coding? in Off Topic

Try going here http://www.edx.org/

A lot of free introductory python classes, all taught by professors from popular universities. I'm taking the MIT one on Computer Science. They're pretty long and take around 15 hours a week in terms of workload, but they're worth it.

#19 On PUGs and IRC in TF2 General Discussion

Honestly, if someone is actually serious about playing comp TF2, they will learn how to use IRC. I went straight into pugna and mix with literally no experience in pugs. Not exactly a smart idea, I failed miserably for the first 15 or so pugs, but still. I understand that some people are on the shyer side and are sort of afraid of IRC because it's intimidating of you don't know how to use it, but if you have no friends who know how to use IRC, and are incapable of watching one of the guides like Sal's, you honestly should stick to Newbie Mixes until you're more sure of yourself.
