I once let a kitten lie down right in front of my face, about 2 minutes later I almost had to go to the hospital because he almost tore off my eyelid.

#2 Logitech G400s or Zowie FK in TF2 General Discussion

I have an old g400, and it isn't very good for a claw grip. It's also pretty big, and since the g400s seems to be pretty similar, I would go with something more like the EC-1 or even the g300 if you can deal with poorly placed buttons. If you really want one of the two I would go with the fk.

#7 Does anyone even still play ammomod? in TF2 General Discussion
hookyThere's 2 people on the TFTV Ammomod server... so the answer is yes.

I'm one of them. Usually it's empty.

#3 Does anyone even still play ammomod? in TF2 General Discussion

There is, but the actual ammomod mod has much better diversity in maps, pretty much everything from the earlier days of MGE as well as some others, all with the same 4x health boosts.

#1 Does anyone even still play ammomod? in TF2 General Discussion

I've always preferred ammomod to MGE, but since the number of ammomod servers has dwindled down to one, I seem to be the only one ever looking to play it. Everyone I know is usually biased towards MGE and won't play it at all.
Does anyone share my opinion, or is the consensus just that it is outdated and obsolete?

#12 Forum chatbox? in Site Discussion

If it's plausible, there could be a separate chat for each forum thread, and a single, unified IRC, where you could join each threads' channel via /j #tv<threadname>. Would be cool, not sure if it's worth the network/storage resources though.

#9 The Future Of Competitive Team Fortress 2 in TF2 General Discussion

I think steps could be taken into making some kind of 24/7 stream bot which could just play over old ESEA IM and invite POV demos, interspersed with ads. There could be a schedule for casted demos, and live matches, as well as community events. Sort of a central hub of casting and competitive TF2, recorded casts could be used as well. It would take a dedicated server, as well as a good chunk of memory for saved casts, and some logistics for casters to control the bot, but if it could be done, we would effectively have an online TV show dedicated to TF2. Would be pretty cool.

#85 TF2 benchmarks in TF2 General Discussion

The reason why bots move faster in local servers after doing the test is probably because the way that it tests it is by locking host_framerate to 66, which makes host_timescale vary as it runs faster and slower. "host_framerate 0" should fix the problem.

I played like 50 hours, it was fun but the whole in-browser platform was kind of annoying. Does anyone even play Quake 3 anymore?

#73 TF2 benchmarks in TF2 General Discussion
mebWaldoBecause of how unvaried the current benchmark demo is, I recorded another one, which includes a lot more camera movement and some places with no action. It's about 2 minutes long, still shouldn't take too long.

Here's a DL link https://mega.co.nz/#!YoFDiCZC!CTaoM0DYyh_KwuVUf87YEwEeQPBOYJi7pZ2Gc2dxjaw

My time for it with dx9/shadows off/gibs+ragdolls off
8509 frames 89.021 seconds 95.58 fps (10.46 ms/f) 8.416 fps variability
While I appreciate the thought, keeping the benchmark demo the same from the start will make everything much easier. Additionally, my benchmark demo simulates a worst case scenario the entire duration of the benchmark, which is much more helpful for the people trying to make sure their avg fps exceeds a certain minimum (say 120 FPS) so they can reliably predict if their FPS might drop in a critical 6v6 moment like a midfight.

True, but the demo is both shorter, so it's a little more stochastic, and doesn't involve any large scale movement, which makes it not have very much rendering load. Though it is late.
