Spritecatbowcar so I could see how 6 players collectively can do below 100dpm

also a team of that mute guy from NA so we know what it'd look like if AI played tf2

We already do know what it'd look like if an AI played tf2.... https://www.twitch.tv/sin_k4rma_6s_demon

#25 sync rocket terms in TF2 General Discussion
DwapkingBoth can work

2 rockets // sync or double
3 rockets // double sync or triple
4 rockets // triple sync or quad
5 rockets // quad sync or quint
ect.

This gets confusing because the most popular term is not consistent. Most players would call 2 rockets a sync, and 5 rockets a quint for example.

Sorry but no this shit is aggressively dumb, nobody who actually jumps says 3 rockets is a double sync or 5 rockets is a quad sync, why on earth would the decision to omit the word 'sync' afterwards change anything???

Obviously when people are new and don't know the terminology they might think things like this but it makes no sense to argue it once you've already heard what the correct terminology is

#1 disabling windows snapping with w10 multi monitors in Q/A Help

I've been searching to try and find a way to disable the windows aero snapping (when you try to drag a window from one monitor to another, the mouse cursor gets stuck between them as if you want to snap it to the side), anyone know a fix for this? Apparently I was saving myself using windows 8 for so many years, there are so many 'features' of windows 10 that just get in the way.

Found a few stackexchange and reddit results that say you can edit the registry but it doesn't look like that actually disables the feature fully and it still does the annoying behavior with multi-monitors (https://superuser.com/questions/1462732/is-it-possible-to-disable-snap-windows-when-moving-windows-between-monitors-wi)

#47 yomps Family Fundraiser announced in News
Chriz_Tah_FahDidn't know yomps well, but the competitive community is so closed-knit that news like this is always a shock to the TF2 family. This event seems great as a celebration of yomps' life to remember all the good times.

That being said, if anyone is looking for a washed player who hasn't touched the game in over a year please hit me up, I'd love to participate. LFT or LFP not sure yet.

Let's make it a day to remember.

Love u chriz ur the best. Also, my team (MAL) will be playing :)

#14 any support for a cp_badlands return? in TF2 General Discussion

I will agree that trying out new maps is good but as console said it's a pretty mixed bag, villa and clearcut are both really poorly optimized and cause bad FPS lag, along with not playing out that well or being particularly interesting. There may very well be more new maps that are better though, we should definitely continue to have new map cups and test things out. What I will say though is this: instead of having a foregone conclusion that badlands and granary are the most hated and need to be removed, we should give them the same chance as the new maps to be voted in. If xattuu and others are right and the new maps are just better, let them win by their own merit and not by excluding the old maps from the ballot. Prolands fixes some of the issues from the original badlands and should definitely be tried as well. I think we should all be a little more open minded instead of assuming that the other side is completely wrong, there's pros and cons of new maps and old maps.

Personally that I much prefer badlands and granary to clearcut and villa, and I would like to see reckoner tried as well potentially. Also, I don't like this argument that just because a map is being currently developed it should automatically be better, let the quality of the map speak for itself. Just because something is being developed doesn't mean it's in a good state now, in fact, playing maps like villa and clearcut in the league I think has cemented people's opinions of them as bad and if they get updated later to fix current issues people will have the bad taste in their mouth still and be apprehensive to play it again. I think clearcut could be fixed if it was less one-dimensional and the cave you can hide your medic in for sacks was removed/restructured, but those would be pretty big changes to make while it's still in rotation. In my opinion we should just vote it out for a season and let the mapmaker try out some different changes in betas, and then vote it in again if it's better.

Edit: the 30 minute stalemate between 7 and EVL was much more to do with match nerves and high stakes of both teams not wanting to lose (also vaccinator last memes by ckj) than the map inherently being flawed. I can't blame them, I wouldn't want to be knocked out of grand finals due to a back cap, but at the same time if either team had taken more risks it would have been a different game. 1 man sacks and spy plays are not exactly the highest amount of effort/commitment you can put into breaking a stalemates, most teams do 2 man sacks and or uber exchanges now which are more risky and help break stalemates better. I've had some of the most back and forth and exciting tf2 matches of my entire time playing on badlands, yeah it's hard to push last but that's true for both teams and it means if you actually do break it you really deserve it. Also, the meta has developed a lot over the ~13 years of the game, there are so many different possible midfight strategies and ways to push each point. If the lower divs really hate it that much that they don't want to re-add it, I would like to see a vote to add it back for invite only like bagel is this season. We have so many maps that play almost exactly the same and are just variants of cp_scout, having maps with different flows and class balance is good for the game imo.

#12 fps drop with twitch dashboard on second monitor in Q/A Help
WiethoofdTriRIKTry updateing to Windows 10 2004 if not already. It fixes different monitor refresh rate issuses. That should already be the version used:bearodactylI enabled the hardware accelerated GPU scheduling---
Does the framerate get impacted the same/less/more if you run TF2 in -window -borderless instead of -full?

Correct, that is the version I'm on. And not at about windowed borderless, will try it tomorrow. With the above changes it would still eat away at fps having the dashboard open, in a jump map it went from perfectly smooth literally over 800 fps to under 200 and feeling like the monitor was on 60hz (which would make sense given the refresh rate stuff people have been saying). Will try other brothers like Firefox today to see if it's just a chrome thing. Would rather not have to but another option dbk suggested was using streamlabs obs. Have all my stuff configured already and don't want to have to remake all my scenes and such. Also have automatic scene switcher plugin configured and don't know if that even works in streamlabs obs. Bttv is also nice to have which I don't think would work with it. Oddly enough the dashboard didn't always lag me, I would be able to use it sometimes and be fine but other times I'd have to minimize it the entire pug because it felt so bad with it open. Will try popout chat instead but think the animations are the issue. Maybe using IRC would fix the issue? I haven't disabled window aero visuals/animations yet because I thought they wouldn't have any effect due to me not moving the windows or minimizing them or anything (and I kind of like how they look) but will test it out to see if that fixes it too.

#9 fps drop with twitch dashboard on second monitor in Q/A Help

Using chrome, have the stream preview disabled, tried enabling and pausing it but same issue. I can have the OBS stream preview open on my other monitor too and it doesn't even add any lag (used to on my old PC it would feel way more laggy). I used to have my second monitor at 144hz with my old setup but the new one only has displayport/hdmi ports so I had to use the included displayport -> DVI adapter but from some googling it doesn't seem possible convert it to dual link DVI, so I guess I'll have to get a displayport cable if I want the second monitor to use its full refresh rate.

riotbzwhats the refresh rate of ur monitors?

240hz main monitor, 60hz second monitor (unless I get a new displayport cable to use instead of the DVI-D). Would the windows 10 limiting refresh rate of your primary monitor go down to whatever the refresh rate of your second monitor is? I don't really mind having 60hz second monitor but it would be nice to have 144 and not have the potential of it doing this shit, or if it did limit it down to 144 sometimes that's not as big a deal.

det-It's a windows 10 issue. Any animation playing on your secondary monitor will limit the refresh rate of your primary monitor. As far as I know there's no fix for it, though I would LOVE to find one. As it is, windows is just being windows.

The same thing will happen if you have pugchamp open and your pre ready bar / ready up bar is ticking down.

I'm really hoping there's some fix for this, this seems like such a stupid bug people must've gotten around it somehow.

Edit: did some searching and looks like game mode causes problems so I'm going to try disabling it lol classic windows

#5 fps drop with twitch dashboard on second monitor in Q/A Help

I enabled the hardware accelerated GPU scheduling but it didn't really fix it. I'm not sure if this is a thing but it seems to be that when I first start streaming my game feels pretty choppy unless I minimize the twitch window (or have another tab with something else like pugchamp) and then part way into the pug it feels smooth again randomly. I just built my new PC and am using windows 10 for the first time (was on windows 8 before), maybe there's more settings I should configure to get it to run well. Read somewhere to enable game mode in windows 10 so I have that too. Maybe there's some other optimizations I need to do first.

Specs are ryzen 5 3600xt with 3200mhz ram and RTX 2070 super which completely shreds tf2 when I'm not streaming and when it's acting normal (with twitch dashboard minimized). My CPU is only running at like 25% capacity usually and task manager says 4.25-4.3 ghz usually (default speed 3.8, max boost 4.5) but maybe there's a way to mess with the bios to get it to think it needs higher clock for tf2 to be happy lol. Checked the temps and it never went too high or anything, running on stock cooler. Could probably get a better cooler and overclock it if need be but I feel like this is an issue with twitch and/or windows 10. Just changed the affinity of chrome to not be on cpu 0, will see if that helps tomorrow.

#1 fps drop with twitch dashboard on second monitor in Q/A Help

Idk if anyone else has experienced this but for some reason when i have my twitch dashboard open on my second monitor my fps drops and it feels super laggy, but if I minimize it the fps goes back to normal and feels smooth. Was watching marmaloo's stream and he was saying he had the same issue so maybe the twitch dashboard is running some new scripts or something that makes it laggier than it would running a regular irc channel or something like that to view chat.

#6430 HUD editing: short questions, quick answers in Customization

I tried to install jay's sunset menu animation vpk but I think rayshud's custom background is overwriting it, how would I go about doing this? I tried deleting the upwards backgrounds and putting the sunset menu animation in there but it didn't work either. Also tried just putting the vpk in the main custom folder like I think you're supposed to and that didn't work. I would imagine I have to edit some file in rayshud to say not to look for a custom background?
