#37 Cheapest stream/gaming build in NY area. in Hardware

There's nothing anymore like a limewire or mp3skull that allows you to just download mp3's for free aside from torrenting?

#35 Cheapest stream/gaming build in NY area. in Hardware

Just made it today and had solidsnake install it all for me on the way home for $50. The $1300 or so I spent was well worth it though, god damn! This computer is amazing in every way and upgrade from my old. I'll probably be able to stream now.

So officially I am now typing from:

- Intel i5 Quad Core 3.2GHz Processor
- NVidia GeForce GTX770 2GB GDDR5
- 256GB Sandisk SSD
- 1TB Seagate 7200 HDD
- 8GB DDR3 Ram
- 650W PSU
- LG Optical Drive
- Corsair 400 Case, which was amazing quality.

Now I get to give my old PC to my fiancee.. Which was:

AMD Athlon II Quad Core 3.0GHz, ATI Radeon 5770 1GB GDDR5, 6GB DDR2, 500W PSU, LG Optical Drive, and a cheap cooler master case.

Right away I can see a dramatic difference in game in direct reference to my BenQ XL2420T 24" LED 120Hz monitor. My old setup was definitely bottle necking my cpu which was really not allowing the full potential of the old build. This new build i'm seeing and hearing things I never heard before. Hell, I may even stream now if someone can show me the ropes ( I can be quite entertaining, even if it's in a bad way lol ). I'll probably add another 8GB of ram to fill it out, can't hurt and it's pretty cheap. And if I ever want to upgrade in the future I can keep the same build and just change out the cpu/gpu since everything else is pretty solid (GPU/RAM/SD/HDD). I'll be set now for another 6 years. Only thing i'm in need of getting used too is working with the double hard drive. Everything wants to save automatically to the c:\ drive with is the ssd and I want only windows/TF2/frequently played games on there. Everything else on the HDD.

All in all, i'm extremely happy finally got my high-end build. Thanks to everyone who helped, especially Platypus and especially SolidSnake for building it for me for only $50 on an hours notice at his house. Really appreciate it guys. Thanks again!

If someone wants to give me a basic run down on how to stream let me know. Also where can I download music these days for free besides torrents?

I definitely decided I want to go Intel i7 / NVidia route. I want nothing bottle necked. Any good build ideas would be preferred. IDK how to do liquid cooling but that sounds like a good idea. And an aftermarket heat sink for better performance.

It's a nice looking map however it doesn't play very well. It's very bad for medics/demos good for roamers and scouts. Most points are difficult to push without being punished and last is similar to warmfront. Pushing back into middle with a 20-30% advantage on most maps you'd be able to get some picks with no problem. This map it's so easy to back out and just counter the uber. Also the 2nd area is so large it's so easy to get split up with your team. With a few changes it could be really good but as of right now it's just not up to par. That's the fairest assessment I can give. The swirl staircase on 2nd looks nice but it is really annoying to play around as a medic who can't rocket jump or double jump. The ammo is risky or too far to grab as well. Too many useless obstacles built in which makes it easy to stalemate. I'm a medic so I didn't enjoy it too much. Definitely needs adjustments but it has potential. The health packs shouldn't be in the cafe they should be more easily available like granary if you'd want to speed up the mid fights more otherwise it's more of a passive boring fight all the time. And if you're going to have all these props and arches over head at least make it so we can jump over them and not get clobbered by spam. I think the alley area would be better off as a cliff type similar to coldfront. If you got rid of the second points it'd make for a great koth map imo.

It really made me wish we were playing warmfront instead.

I'm re-bumping this thread as my decision to buy got delayed a little bit due to having to pay some things off for my up-coming wedding. I just wanted to re-confirm with those of you who were nice enough to help me the first time if you could give me another list of items to buy that fit my original post. My budget is around $800. Thanks to anyone who can help.

I've got a Samsung Galaxy S4, and it's pretty incredible. Can't go wrong with most of the new gen smart phones especially if you haven't upgraded in a while.

#54 ESEA S16 - half of the season in TF2 General Discussion
extracrispyevery time my teammate connects to the server, it kicks him about 30 seconds after hes in and it says he must be running esea client. this isnt the first time ive seen this issue arise, however ive never had it myself so i dont know how to fix it. anyone whos experienced this, could you give us some suggestions on how to fix it?

Make sure he's loading TF2 from the client, not already having it running and then opening the client. Big difference.

Exit TF2 > Open client > Join server from client > no issues ever. This is the alt-tab generation and people make things so difficult.

You didn't mention in the beginning that their best player (and team leader) banny wasn't playing. Could explain the scores a bit.

I don't think we should bash Shooter for trying here. I don't think he's a programmer, more of like a middle man that admins and passes along the good word. That is if I had to assume. Maybe he's noting things to implement for the following season and not in the middle of one. Who knows. Only Shooter can answer that.
