#38 Alternatives to speed up the game. in Map Discussion

The only thing I would change in terms of speeding up the game would be halving the time ubers last so that ubers are used merely for getting past stickies and getting into a choke, and that switching targets during ubers doesn't drain the time. That way, if a medic is really good at flashing, he can flash his team through the choke just to pass the entryway spam.

#22 invite no more in TF2 General Discussion
wisebrahclckwrklol I don't even hate you dude. The same comments fly by every time you play invite pugs and I don't think anyone's really that serious. Of course we could adjust our attitudes and not beat a dead horse with the "spadez is shit" jokes over and over again, but I've picked you before in invite pugs and I've gladly played with you before.

That situation especially was completely in jest. I do that with a lot of people if I'm captaining. "Ugh, do I really have to pick Tagg?" but I pick him anyway. In fact I picked you and then you left mumble and refused to rejoin to play on my team. It's amazing that I somehow get singled out as a bad guy as if I've never played with you before. In fact I kept telling b4nny to message you and tell you you're picked because your outrageous rq from mumble and tf2 made me feel bad.

I'm sorry my joke somehow sparked sudden disinterest in tf2. I apologize for making that comment even though I've played with you and have picked you before. But if xensity is for some reason shittalking you, ignore them, play your heart out, and show them they'd be retarded for trash talking you and not picking you up.
I took it out of context I guess, it got to me because it keeps happening to me over and over. But I really appreciate your apology.

I understand. I've said before that people use that spadez is shit joke too much especially when they're at or near your skill level. I guess I wasn't really thinking because I didn't know that you were sensitive to that joke since I guess you've dealt with it for so long. But yes, I agree the xensity shit is really stupid if that's not sensationalized. Xensity especially could definitely be at the same level with you playing so there's no reason for any of that shit. Especially if they're trying you out, they shouldn't be shittalking you before your tryout. Haha spadez you didn't get picked cuz bad, but you wanna maybe play for our team? Idk. But even so I'd say just stick it out if you really like the game. If you get good enough no one cares about your past. Keep in mind TLR did in fact steal a trophy.

#40 b4nny pov in TF2 General Discussion
ngeWhat is it with terrible players and huge egos? It doesn't matter if b4nny is better or not than brad, because they're both better than the garbage men critiquing brad here.

Well it's simple, really -- they're egotistical because they believe and Brad doesn't. They believe in our savior and through our savior must we thrive. They're angry at Bradford because he is an atheist (GASP) and doesn't kiss the feet of the Messiah. They are the 100 disciples, and they are angry about the blasphemy that occurred.

PYYYOUR analyzing a b4nny demo? Um, LOL? By acting as someone who could critique our savior, he's eliciting godlike praise. Is a mere mortal medic on the same level as our (B)b4nny? Likely not.

He's coveting, plain and simple. But he's taking it a step further. He doesn't envy what his contemporaries have, he craves the attention and skill that our Messiah has.

Aside from this abhorrent behavior, he's not ruling through our (B)b4nny; banning players for their remarks without our savior's consent? Excuse me, unless our savior wills it, they shalt not be silenced. Rule through our Messiah is infallible, much like the Papal rule over the Vatican. Not a hard concept, bird-brain.

All in all, he's a modern-day Judas mixed with a horrible, secular totalitarian ruler. Not the way this religion works, folks.

#11 Invite poll is up in TF2 General Discussion
drmtcMYLESdrmtcis this really what invite has come to? I can see why the best players already quit
What?

I personally don't expect those two teams to do all that well in invite sadly ;-;

Plus xensity seems kind of odd being in invite after so long. I might as well say this. CMU back to lan, b4nnys team at lan, Bro/Whale at lan, AG at lan =\ But who am I to say without seeing the rosters, NO ONE I SAY! NO ONE!

Good luck S13 invite players

What im saying is that tf2 is a very VERY team oriented game as im sure all of you will agree, and because of that you can have a team of average players that work well together and put them in invite, like kapowww's team. some may say this is a good thing, but the sad part is that individual skill is greatly reduced in this game, as compared to, for example, team fortress classic. this is why you cant stick TLR on a shitty open team and expect to win against a team better than shitty open, cause they will just expose the teams weakness, which in this case would be everybody except for TLR and the medic (this rule might have an exception with the scout class). You can also see that my logic is sound because banny's team didn't win lan this year, even though banny is "jesus".

tf2 is fun but the hl2 engine limits players so much and forces ppl to work together because individual classes were designed not to have much power (except maybe scout). if i were an invite player, i would get bored cause of all these newbies coming into invite by just playing "6v6 tf2" and getting good as a team, but bringing little to nothing new in terms of skill, strategy, and what you might call "movement" in tf2. i think its time to start thinking outside of standard 6v6 gameplay mentality and maybe begin to be more creative with team, and most importantly individual strategies. there is a reason tf2 introduces all these new weapons, but we just seem to ignore all the potential these weapons have and use them to serve standard tf2 6v6 gameplay.

I can see where you're coming from to an extent. I too wish that there was a different advanced form of movement. If bunny hopping were incorporated into this game I think I would be a lot better. But those advanced movement forms (bunny hopping, strafe jumping, conc) have all been replaced by sticky jumping and rocket jumping. Unfortunately you have to suck it up and realize that the old forms of movement that you and I might excel at are no longer relevant. And there is a lot of depth in rocket jumping and sticky jumping. I'm terrible at both even though I've been playing this game for 4 years.

And I think you're drastically underestimating the effect individual skill has in this game. Especially between teams of the same division, individual skill is a make or break attribute. b4nny might seem like Jesus to everyone and although he's crazy good at the game, so is everyone else on classic mixup. Mixup has(d) some of the best scouts in the game if not the best. The individual skill between enigma and ruwin leads to a lot of damage output, forcing opponents to back out and directing his team's damage toward less targets. There are a lot of times individual skill comes into play. I've hit good 60~ damage shots from mid range on scouts, and the only thing they can do at that point is run away, opening the flank and allowing the rest of the team to focus on the rest of the players with a man advantage. The same idea works with soldiers and demos. One extra rocket or pipe hit leads to more damage and puts your team on the winning end.

Anyway, engine physics doesn't simplify this game as much as you think it does. That being said, soldier is gay.

#9 Invite poll is up in TF2 General Discussion

It's kind of strange that people expect the intermediate move-ups to be illustrious players. If the teams that moved up from intermediate don't have the hardest time in invite then the original 7 teams were chosen erroneously. The 7 default teams are in the division because they are known players who have previously played at the top, players who have played somewhat near the top, or players who have battled their way through intermediate season after season. The moveups from intermediate are players who are now breaking the barrier test their might against the top of the game.

Voting for vector due to doggles' team alleged disinterest in invite. Good luck dudes.

#137 ESEA-Orang-eXplosion in TF2 General Discussion
Dodecagongood effort extine IMO.

I think you had the right idea, I think esea supports tf2 a lot less than extv does, since it's only about profit. So it would be better to grow extv who actually cares about the community and stuff, and i guess you had the leverage to do so but it didn't work out. SO sry.

Not singling you out but the idea that ESEA does less for TF2 than eXtv is what gets us in the wrong mindset. I don't doubt that eXtv puts more passion and effort into their work, but they certainly do not support TF2 as much as ESEA for the simple fact that ESEA is the impetus for a lot of people to play TF2. A LAN and prize money every season, even for the lower divisions. This support might be less personal, but no matter how "given" their support feels (what with them having the money to support TF2), not giving them the respect they deserve for sticking with our game will not help it grow. I'm all for eXtv helping TF2 behind the scenes, but fighting for viewership over an ESEA Orange stream can't do any good for TF2, unless eXtv has a TF2 league/LAN in the works. Don't bite the hand that feeds you; ESEA is there for us and we should be there for ESEA.
