On the client, I want to say there is about a 50% chance it gives a notification listing the two captains when there is a match found. It's weird, because you always get a first notification saying a match is found, but the second captain one is random. I've been surprised a few times.

you want this guy on your team
Reminder that it is officially January 15th today. Get paid up (preferably by today) by tomorrow!
What is the 2000 kilometer bubble based off of, and what is considered decent ping? There are a lot more variables to latency than just geographical location.
Still doing this for season 27. Just add me or post in this thread, I can have it up in less than 5 minutes if I'm not busy. (also I promise Europe is coming soon)
Fermi1st ESEA seson for me, I'm excited!
Mastrej would fit really well on a dedicated mid to high open team.
I remember CS:GO cheats on GNU systems being real tough to catch for a while (even if known), due to the differences in how permissions are handled between applications, or something like that.
I hate to be a downer here, but don't buy Windows keys from these online key shops. 95% of the time, they are pirated, and are used more than one person at a time. You're better off actually pirating Windows if you don't want to pay for a legitimate copy.
Edit: and of course, any distro of Linux is a great choice! As long as you have Windows in a dual boot setup for ESEA.
I know it's a little late, but I just wanted to mention that I had an amazing first season in ESEA. I can confidently say that many people do not have the luck to have a chance to play with such awesome people like I did with The Salty Seaman their first go around. There was a lot of headaches, arguments, and yelling, but overall it was a great experience for me, and I can't wait to do it again next season.
This has been talked about before. It's a grey legal area, we forfeit almost any kind of Valve support (if you believe that kind of thing exists), forcing people to download a different version from anything other than Steam would be tedious and unlikely to work, nobody wants to develop on the version of the platform Team Fortress 2 was based on, and there are actually tons of quality of life improvements that have been made to the game over years that a outside version of the game wouldn't have.
