i used to have a CRT, and it would give the option of a higher refresh rate when i lowered the resolution. which probably isn't the case with all crt's but you can try that

obviously everyone has their own preference, i tried it the other day my friend had one and i honestly didn't like the flavor at all yeah its smooth but it just left a really unsatisfying after taste. ive been smoking on and off for a long time too, but i just like the flavor of actual tobacco. plus ecigs actually have WAYYYYYY more nicotine than regular cigs. i remember when i went to montreal for ETS...i had the quebec classique cigs and they taste amazing (non menthol). i heard japanese cigs are some of the best as well.
