there is literally no upside to using a laser sensor instead of an optical sensor, and there is the possibility of a downside depending on the mousepad. it's your money though, so i'd recommend g500 / SS xai as the least bad laser mice.

I recently built a new pc. My fps is fine and everything, but on certain servers my ping will jump to 360ish and stay there. I've noticed that on servers that are less demanding in terms of fps (i.e. surf, jump, mge, empty dm servers) my ping will be fine. But on servers that are more fps-demanding (full dm servers, pubs, scrims), my ping will usually jump. I also used to run tf2 at the lowest settings possible on my old laptop and I never had this issue.

I'm on wired internet, but I live in a dorm so bandwidth might (?) be the issue. Anything I can do to fix this?
