No but you might want to try for a 6300. Also if you want to run 1080p on your monitor you might want to get a 2gb edition of the 650. I'm gonna edit the build a bit tell me if you like it.

That build looks really nice, I'm probably going to use it. Is the main difference between the two motherboards suggested that the asus has the 1155 socket and the gigabyte has something presumably better?

Because it's the refresh rate x2 of a 120hz monitor, and I'd want to use the 120hz monitor to its fullest extent. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong though.

I also modified the build a bit to include the FX-4170 and it actually came out cheaper. I used a motherboard that came with an FX-8320 in a different build I saw, so there shouldn't be any compatibility issues. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/SOSw

#1 need help with ~550$ budget build in Hardware

Basically I'm fed up with getting 30 fps at mids, so I'm looking looking to build a new desktop with a 550$ budget. I'm mainly gonna be playing tf2 on it, and want to spend more on the processor.

After some digging on this forum, I found this build by Twitch John which fits my budget: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/SOCZ. I'm kind of concerned though that the i3 won't have enough juice to run this game at ~240 frames with highframes and no streaming. Does anyone know if it can? Also please critique the build, it may not be perfect.

#4 Demo lft open in Recruitment (looking for team)

played on his team last season and I can honestly say that this guy is one of the nicest guys in the tf2 community. I cannot remember a single time he had a bad attitude or raged even though we were a lowish open team that got pounded pretty often. His demo has also improved immensely and he is a solid pickup for any open team.

also has a really comfortable couch
