My overlay only works if I have -dxlevel xx in my launch options. If I don't, the names are all very thick/blurred. Shift+tab doesnt work if I have the -dxlevel xx command. Halp

if your fps is lower than your refresh rate then it won't really make the game much smoother
This isn't necessarily true, a lot of people say they can notice 60Hz->75Hz, in which case you would only need 75 fps to take advantage of it. I would say you'd probably want 90+ to bother and ideally 120+ to get your money's worth

And comparing a multi card configuration to the nvidia titan on a price/perf. basis is silly. The Titan is a premium card for enthusiasts, everybody knows it doesn't offer anywhere near the best price/performance. The Titan is for people who want the most powerful single card solution and/or enthusiasts who are insane and want to fit as much power as they can into their computer (ie 4 Titans).
