#13 goodbye $20 :( in Off Topic
ShwanEveryone learns this the hard way. When I was still playing the best experience of the season was to cancel my premium. I wonder if ESEA will ever get to the point where giving them my money doesn't depress me, hopefully they can.

This season was the first I forgot to cancel...and of course it's the only time I've done the three month subscription instead of 1 month lol

kuzaThat sucks, this is why i cancel mine right away :)

I usually do but this was my first time doing it on paypal (vs. google) and I couldn't figure it out and figured I have plenty of time...against my better judgement.

#176 i49 in TF2 General Discussion
kaidusEggy i49 wasn't that huge for the american scene. please reconsider ;_;
+1 to harbleus points, but just to add something. It didn't do much for the NA scene, but the NA scene didn't actually raise a fair portion of that money. Everything has extvs name plastered all over it, sure, but I'm fairly sure the eu community donated just as much (if not more due to a few wealthy lunatics). The american scene alone did not and cannot raise that kind of money, certainly not for something less than the biggest spectacle of the TF2 year.

While I'm well aware we had help from other countries, I'm pretty sure we donated more than "a fair portion" of it. Especially since Sal himself spent like 5+ grand or something that never got paid back at all. I think either gaben or robin walker donated a fair amount too.

But yes, no scene is capable of raising 20 grand as we couldn't do it combined without Sal

#7 Expanding appeal to new players on the front page in Site Discussion
SpyromancerredbanthrasherAlso for expanding appeal to newer players... Maybe the majority of the community could stop acting like a bunch of ignorant cunts all the time.

When TF2 first came out just about everyone in the community was pretty nice and usually really helpful. Now it's more like "fucking noob. Fuck off." And that's not very appealing.

I feel like the "fucking noob, fuck off" stuff is between existing community members. Seems like new players are greeted with warm welcomes and friendliness. Not even being sarcastic either.
Of the top of my head, Kissme and cookie are two prime examples of people who made "hello world" posts and were met with all smiles.

Even if it isn't said to them, it probably still discourages new members who know they are bad (because they are new...). A lot of them probably just read the forum before they even make an account/post.

#48 Advertising tf.tv through....engagement rings. in TF2 General Discussion

I think tf.tv isn't an option for some reason, iirc.

tf2.tv would be the next best, but that already goes to Arx and Beta's youtube page.
