I'd probably play some. Never got super into the competitive scene in that game, but always loved playing promod pubs and DMs
do not go gentle into that good night
I'm personally a big fan of hearing a caster over top of some sick frags with the music synced up for it as well. Those are the kind of frag movies that give me chills.
went to i55 and yelled at video games
was p cool
Its the Sennheiser HMD-26 II. Its used for almost every large eSports event, as well as some sporting events. Super good sound out of these, and they are quite comfy.
Howdy folks,
I've made a snapchat apart from my personal one where I'll be posting stuff from i55 as well as future events I cover for TF2 and other games. Feel free to add.

See you all soon from Coventry!
typical NA players..
Charles32TevsWhat else has gecks done? I agree that he is a fantastic caster, I guess my question is where has he gotten his experience besides tf2?
Along with TF2, I have also been casting a game called CrossFire for about five years or so, and have become an employee of ESL to deal with that game specifically (for casting and administrative work). Regardless of anyone's thoughts on the game itself and its viewership, it has given me the opportunity to cast in the ESL studio in Los Angeles three times now, as well as attend a couple of other LAN events for the game when the WCG was still around. I'd say CrossFire is actually where I have gained most of my 'professional' casting experience, because of getting to work in places such as the ESL studio which is just about as high tech of a studio there is in the eSports industry. I am also a CS:GO caster for CEVO.
samjain98I don't think you really need much exposure to the specific game modes to be able to cast play-by-play for tf2.
I do think that is right, to an extent. While you certainly don't need as much exposure to the specific game mode as the color caster, it still goes a long way to have a good bit of exposure as a play by play guy.
This is mainly true when it comes to just watching the game. Since I don't play highlander really (other than casually with friends sometimes), I find I have a tougher time following the action and spotting out certain plays being made. My amount of experience, or lack thereof, can be seen when trying to talk about what the teams are doing as well. While I understand the meta of highlander on some level, I would be able to cast the game mode even better if I had played it more. That's why I steer clear of doing much analysis of the games, and leave it to guys like Grizz and Sigafoo.
In the end, I don't think its absolutely crucial for a PXP caster to have played the game mode competitively at a higher level, it can certainly add some value to the cast if they had. Take me casting 6s for example. I think I improved the most casting that game mode when I started playing at a higher level than just UGC Silver, and I think some of the best PXP guys in any game are the ones that played it competitively.
However, do I think I'm qualified to cast highlander? Yes.
GGs to both teams. Loved seeing the big plays. Hope grizz and I killed the dead time well for ya guys :3
Uh, I actually think I fixed it right after I posted this lol
In my audio settings, it was trying to force surround sound audio, so I switched it to stereo and it seems to be working alright now. If the problem comes up again I'll make note of it.
So I just got the Sennheiser HD 558 headphones, and they sound great. That is, until I go into a game.
When I listen to music or anything on Youtube they are fine, but once I go into TF2 or CSGO, the audio seems to get distorted. It'll be okay for a few seconds, and then normally once I shoot a rocket or something, the sound gets tinny/drowned out and distorted. As a note, I am plugging them into my Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio card.
Anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening, seemingly only in games? Is it the headphones, sound card, etc?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I'm expecting a very long night, and of course I have to wake up at 7am for work tomorrow.
all for the love of esports
