If ESEA were considering the possibility dropping LAN, or TF2 as a whole, I would imagine this would at least maybe make them rethink it? But who knows, its ESEA.

Hopefully that scenario doesn't even need to be tested.

This week I'll be in LA working in the ESL studio again to cast the WCA (World Cyber Arena) CrossFire Online Qualifiers. WCA are the people that took over the operations for WCG (World Cyber Games) if any of you remember those events. The NA qualifiers for CrossFire are taking place this week. Top two teams for the online qualifiers will face off late in May for a LAN finals to decide who represents on the international stage. There will also be another event (tentatively) over the summer at PAX Prime for an Open LAN to decide what other team from NA goes to the international stage. Also, for those that don't know what CrossFire is, its basically a free game very similar to Counter Strike, just not as well made (off course, its a free game). This was actually the first game I ever started casting, when I was a mere 15 years old. While the NA scene has died quite a bit over the past couple of years, over in the Asia-Pacific countries it is extremely popular, especially in China. There is even quite hefty amounts of prize money put towards the game. I believe (not exactly sure of the figures) some of the Chinese CF players are some of the higher earning cyber-athletes in the world. Certainly something cool to check out in your free time.

The casts will be Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday starting at 5pm PDT/8pm EDT each day.

Ladies and gentlemen, the future of advertising has arrived.

Yeah it was unfortunate. I suspect they crushed it because either a.) it happens so much up there that they just don't give a shit anymore, or b.) the people who go about stealing these cars pay them off to they just crush the evidence. Of course the second option is just a theory, but I wouldn't put it past them. My guess is they have an army people that travel within a 2-3 hour radius of NYC, steal the cars, bring them into the city, have them chopped, dump the body of the car, and have sanitation come pick them up to be crushed to dispose of evidence.

I had a 2007 Acura RSX Type S. Which in the car world, is pretty sought after. These guys were certainly in it for the parts. To steal a car like the RSX, you need to be pretty good at what you're doing. There is a special chip in the key that makes it so it will only start if that specific key is put into the car. From my understanding, you cannot start the car by simply hot wiring it. Therefor, this guy needed to know how to disable the security system that requires the chip to start the car, and then hot wire it, which of course would require some pretty good skills. Also note, this is at least my understanding of how the security system works, as I try to recall it from what some car guys told me when it happened.

Luckily I had great insurance, and I actually ended up making out really well. Along with putting in a little extra money, I was able to get a 2013 Civic, a step up from the base model (not sure what its called). I was one of the lucky ones. Most people get screwed on things like this. It was just really inconvenient to not have a car for a few months, and lose the things that were still in the car when it was crushed, that the thieves probably wouldn't have taken (shoes, clothes, other memorable things).

Its one of those things you think will never happen to you, and then when you see your car completely gone one day you're just like, well...shit.

If you really do it right, I feel as though it'd be one of the easier things to get away with. My car was stolen last semester right out of my parking lot. It was even on camera, but the police couldn't do shit about it. They didn't even really try to find him, and I honestly didn't care all that much, because I knew there was a snowball's chance in hell they were actually going to find who did it. The guy probably does it all of the time, and very skilled at it.

Though of course, there will be a lot more force out there looking for who took 300 million in diamonds, but still, you get the point.

And just to finish the story, they found my car in NYC (I live outside of Philly) on the side of the road a little less than a week after it was stolen, engine and transmission gone. I then get a call later telling me this, and also that my car has been crushed by the department of sanitation.

History will be made.

I'm reaching out here because I am in need of some help. I'm currently taking an intro to web design class at my university, and we have a website due next week, although I pretty much need to have mine done by the end of this week because of potential travel plans for casting.

Is there anyone around that is good with HTML/CSS and some Java that could help me out? I only plan on coming to you whenever I'm having an issue with something, or need some advice, just so I don't have to spend large amounts of time trying to fix one problem, as time is of the essence. Any help would be appreciated.
