Oblivionage@op isn't the actual shit thats in chewing tobacco worse than nicotine. doing 0mg or 3mg is still horrible for you isn't it?

As reilly said, the health concern isn't nicotine. Nicotine is on par with caffeine really, though people argue its more addictive which I think is a valid claim. And even using 3mg nicotine is very very low.

The thing with chewing tobacco is, is that it isn't has horrible for you as people think, though it is still bad for you. While it isn't good for you by any means, its a lot less harmful to you than smoking cigarettes is. I just feel a lot of people have the misconception that they are equally bad for you, which is false. Snus (a Swedish invention similar to chewing tobacco but can be swallowed), has been said to be even less harmful. Chewing tobacco doesn't give you the numerous side effects that smoking does, nor as severe.

Research done by an oral pathologist at the University of Louisville named Brad Rodu, as well as many other credible researchers and institutions actually show that oral cancer rates among those that use chewing tobacco are actually quite low. And as I said before, you don't really have any other adverse side effects besides receding gums, your lip getting a little sore, leukoplakia (which almost never happened to me), and in very rare cases, hairy tongue. Though I think this was used more as a scare tactic to keep people away from chewing tobacco, because I have never known anyone with it, or knew someone that knew someone that had it. This means the side effects do more to effect the appearance of your mouth more than anything (yellow teeth, receding gums). Although of course, there are still the people out there that do actually get oral cancer, as well as esophagus and stomach problems if they swallow it (thats only something the hardcore dippers do).

Sorry this was somewhat lengthy post, this is just something I researched a lot, and actually did a research report on in school. Regardless, all tobacco is bad for you to some extent, that is why I switched to vaping.

showstopperi've got an MVP and a nautilus mini, shits dope

I really want to get the mini with that stainless steel outside tube. Looks a bit less clunky compared to the full sized nautilus on the MVP.

#1 vaping in Off Topic

Not sure how many of you on here partake in this or if a thread like this has been around before, but I might as well get a vape thread going. And when I say vape I mean electronic cigarettes, not the marijuanas.

I have been dipping (using chewing tobacco/snuff) for about 4 years or so, within the past year going through almost a can a day. Just kind of fell into the peer pressure back in high school, and since I live in a somewhat rural area of PA where hunting and all that good stuff is prevalent, a lot of people did it. A few days ago I picked up an MVP V2 with an Aspire Nautilus tank from my local shop to try and start getting off of tobacco. I have to say, it does wonders. I used the crappy eGos in the past with garbage tanks and it never did the trick. I have now been only dipping about once a day, and thats just more for the oral fixation than anything. I use a 6mg juice since I tend to vape a decent bit throughout the day depending on what I'm doing. It keeps me from consuming too much nicotine. The goal is to move to 3mg next, and then try to start using 0mg nicotine juices to get myself off of nicotine altogether. From there, then just use a mix of like 3mg and 0mg and do it more as just a hobby.

What devices do you guys use? What would be the next step up for me from the MVP V2 and the nautilus? I'm not really looking to get into mechanicals all that much, looking more into some other regulated box mods with variable voltage and/or variable wattage. Although I would be looking to get into some rebuildables like the kayfun and maybe some RDAs, but that probably wont be for a little while yet.

#75 Chex Mix is my Favorite Snack Food in Off Topic

Love all of the posts of Snyders products, straight out of my good ol' hometown of Hanover, PA. Utz chips also from Hanover are god tier as well. Way better than those over-salted and greasy Lays chips. Snack capital of the US!

#65 Overwatch (Blizzard Game) in Other Games
brownymastergecksI think TF2 is the best competitive FPS game to ever exist everAlthough I'd agree the community as a whole considers TF2 a great competitive game (obviously on TFTV), I think most people would say TF2 is hardly the best competitive FPS. Definitely one of the most fun to most of us, but a lot of other FPS's I feel have proper developer competitive support, communities, gameplay etc. What other competitive FPS games have you seen/played?

Also, after looking at the shoutcast I don't think it'll be as fun as TF2 for a long while. It reminds me of a ton of Asian F2P fps games that really don't have as much staying power. The good thing is that it's from Blizzard so it's guaranteed millions of people trying it/playing it for a while, but I really doubt the balance is anywhere near where people will want to be. Also, doesn't seem like much opportunity for airshotting (I think there's the orb skill which has a huge radius anyways) and the tank classes can take a ton of damage anyways so there's no big "wow" factor like you can do in TF2. Of course we'll still have to wait until it actually hits release because the game and balance will probably change drastically.

Well thats the thing. Its the best to us that play it. To those on the outside, they don't see it for what we do, and the incredible gameplay that can come from it in competition. And yes, other games get much more competitive support, but for pure gameplay in its competitive format, I'd pick TF2 anyday. As far as other games, I've played many of them that had a competitive following, and I played them at some level of competition. Anything from Day of Defeat 1.3 and Source, to CS:S, Crossfire, a couple of the Call of Duty games, Soldier Front 2, etc. Out of all of the games that I have played, I think this gives the most entertaining and exciting gameplay. Of course this is just a personal opinion.

But that's what I saw in the gameplay, no 'wow' factor. No airshotting really, as well as (at least as far as I saw) not even like rocket jumping and things like that. Those are just some of the things that I really love about TF2. Though none of us will really know its potential until we play it ourselves. I wont count it out until I play it.

Though for the record, Day of Defeat 1.3 was a close second for me as far as the most fun competitive FPS games I've ever played.

#63 Overwatch (Blizzard Game) in Other Games

I think Bloodsire had a lot of good points in his post.

Though when I watch this game, for me personally, it just doesn't seem like something I could get behind as much as I have with TF2. I cant pinpoint exactly what it is about it. Now who knows, that could COMPLETELY change once I actually play the game. This is just based off of what I have seen of it. I think I still just have this bias where I think TF2 is the best competitive FPS game to ever exist ever

#76 Increasing scout aim in TF2 General Discussion

I'm not a great scout or anything, but I know a lower sensitivity will definitely help. But its more about what you're comfortable with.

TheFragile I think this is where gecks and I do just fine, because he leaves a lot of the analyzing to me. He might not have much experience with the game, but I fill in most of what needs to be explained.

My boy got it.

GetawhaleI brought a dress shirt and two ties to GXL and regret not wearing them! I was expecting casual dress, and Lange thought the same, and then this handsome man comes and shows everybody up! I'll know for next time.

+1 for Stylin'

the "invite player" shirt was legendary.

Also, thank you everyone for the feedback. I'd love to keep hearing opinions, good and bad.

#1 a big thank you in TF2 General Discussion

I know this is pretty late, but I just wanted to say thank you to everyone, for the whole GXL experience.

Congrats to Froyotech for being god damn animals, and I can't wait to see more of you guys.
Also, huge shoutout to TheFragile. The man worked tirelessly to bring this all together. As my favorite casting partner, and a guy I consider a good friend, he deserves endless praise. I can't thank you enough for putting all of this together. Also, huge shoutout to the whole production crew, and other casters that helped with this event. You guys are awesome.

Speaking of which, this LAN was probably the most fun one that I've been too. I've casted and attended four or so LANs, and this was by far my favorite. The TF2 community is absolutely incredible in what you guys put into it. It is purely for the love of this game. I'd take the dedication and passion that this community has any day over sponsors or notoriety.

Also, I'd like to take this chance to ask you guys what I can work on as a caster. As a guy that loves casting, and what he does, I want your input. I want to get better, and I know there is room for me to grow. I would love any constructive criticism that anyone has. Though I will say, please say things other than "know the game better." I know I don't know the game as well as some of you may like, and I'm working on it. Thank you all for an amazing weekend. See you all at the next LAN, can't wait.
