#165 No Hats Mod in Customization
JarateKingI haven't finished it or made a formal release yet but I've been working on something that (among other things) should auto-generate nohats. Headsfeet is wip but the entire process is there, just not the list of things that need to be removed.

If all you want is nohats, it should be a matter of:
  1. download zip
  2. unzip into tf/custom/
  3. run generate.bat
  4. type 'y' for the "would you like to remove hats?" question, type 'n' for everything else
  5. wait a minute or two


I haven't checked with the new hats, but unless they're put in a really weird spot (that I'd just need to add to a list and then it all works) they should get removed.

Unless Valve decides they want to add their own hats, community made hats/hats from the community workshop will almost always be in the same directory.

I don't have a whole lot of time to play the game anymore due to real life commitments and I don't have a whole lot of motivation either. #146 No Hats Mod in Customization

Update: Removed the new Blue Moon cosmetics and fixed hopefully all of the problems that were found before. Namely the Champ Stamp showing on Scout and added some cosmetics to Headsfeet that were showing that didn't need to be there.

HonsterxJeebsxIt seems like a few cosmetics aren't being removed from the mods.
Apparently, Valve changed the location of some of the models but left the old ones in the vpk still(according to my GCFscape at least) I noticed this when I got 9 hits for a certain cosmetic .vtx in nohats and 18 hits for the same file in GCFscape.

I looked up a diff of the update and that programmer coding shit is way beyond me tbh. I did see this steamdb breakdown which listed the old model files and their new location(and sometimes new name). I went ahead and ctrl+f'ed the changed model and changed visual entries and made a list of the changed locations then made a vpk with that shit removed. I made the vpk with a lot of copy pasting so hopefully no spelling errors and the vtx files are ctrl+v'd from nohats.

*This only contains the cosmetics that were slipping through nohats since Jungle Inferno, this isnt the entire nohats repackaged.

I tested the items in itemtest minus alternate styles(which itemtest cant do) and TF2Maps Charitable Heart which I didnt see in the list and they all were invisible. Hopefully this can be easily integrated into the exisitng nohats/headsfeet. This worked without the old location model entries so they can be deleted I guess.

The following cause invisible bodygroups need to be removed from the above vpk for headsfeet:
models\workshop_partner\player\items\scout\fm2012_cleats\fm2012_cleats (Ball-Kicking Boots)
models\workshop_partner\player\items\scout\scout_henchboy\scout_henchboy_belt (Flunkyware)

These need to be deleted from the already existing headsfeet vpk:

mba_Hello Jeebx, the latest github headsfeet and originalnohatsmod are crashing my tf2 on launch. Can't reach the menu before the game crashes. I am using mastercoms 4.5.6 config if that makes any difference, help pls.

Shouldn't be causing any sorts of crashes. Either you have something in your config or you have somehow managed to install it incorrectly.

Sorry for the extra work, thanks for trying it though. :(

I think valve patched something when they broke nohats once before so maybe there is hope.

Better to find out now that it's nothing I've done instead of letting it sit there.
