#5 Help with internet in Hardware

how old is the building?

Last time I had dsl the home wiring was entirely corroded. Switched to different lines that didn't have any corrosion. Problem with flaky connection went away.

IMO, DSL is a lot more reliable than cable. Though AT&T is fucking expensive.

ZimmyTypically that happens when you don't shake it enough before use and/or do not hold it perpendicularly to the ground.

??? There's text on the can that says don't shake...

#9 M y computer wont power on in TF2 General Discussion
Not_MatlockTo be honest, This problem could be caused by any failing piece of hardware. I've experienced this with dead processors, RAM, PSUs, and GPUs.

You can try taking the entire computer apart and attempt to switch out parts in attempt to find the broken piece, but in my experience it's easier just to take it to a shop and have them run a diagnostic on it.

I agree, the only way to diagnose the issue is to swap out parts. Unless you have a second PC and the time to do this, I'd follow matlock's advice.

I'm very surprised you haven't done anything after 3 BSOD's.

#15 Trying my hand at casting + update on video guides in TF2 General Discussion
MarxistAnother go around with a game I hadn't watched before - some render errors in the video but it's inherent in the FRAPs footage :( not too many errors that last too long.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8nuHiPOOHL0

How's your computer? Instead of fraps how about recording with a different tool like dxtory or Afterburner (free) which has a choice of VFW codecs like x264/lagarith/UT Video. [UT video is Fucking fast lossless]

Some video stuff
-Disable frame blending because the panning scenes are jarring. If you're on vegas, make sure the project FPS matches the media fps and the export FPS matches the project fps.

-The bottom part of the introductions were difficult to read.

-Different hud with more readable spec thingy.

#10 Lag spikes when somebody else is using the wi-fi in Hardware

Are you using 802.11n while the other devices are using 802.11g?
AFAIK, G and N on a 2.4ghz frequency can fuck each other over.

I would try falling back to wireless-g only. (General setup>Wireless>Basic Settings>Band)

edit: look at fix #3 http://www.smallnetbuilder.com/wireless/wireless-basics/30664-5-ways-to-fix-slow-80211n-speed

#11 Help with OBS local recording in Hardware
crespiI'm wondering if overclocking my gpu would help with this at all, even though it's most likely my cpu that can't take the load. My gpu happens to be oc'able and at the same time run cooler.

No, there is no job on the GPU regarding the encoding process.

crespiMaybe i'll try the msi thing that jp recommended, but it seems like more of a pain.

After you get it setup, works great. The software doesn't allow binding a mouse button to the push-to-talk feature so I use a separate software.

A note...have you ever reduced the video resolution?
also you're on a laptop, isn't the disk speed 5400rpm? That's too slow.

#9 Problems with the Razer Deathadder 2013 in Hardware
AndI've tried cleaning the mouse already....
Re-installing the firmware
doesn't change anything ;_;

Give some more information, what pad, what polling rate, usb3.0/2.0. Have you adjusted calibration and LOD settings.

I think you'll get better answers at...

You're already using msi afterburner, why not use it?

You should also get a separate Hard disk to record onto.
