#30 San Jose Area People in Off Topic
JOEI do enjoy sport events also. I know the sharks are in SJ. Anyone know if the SF giants have a nice stadium, worth attending? what other sport teams are there? itd be summer, so mainly only baseball would be going on.

to answer your question, the area just outside ATT Park is pretty nice, theres a ton of restaurants and bars around that area, and the stadium is really nice. if you venture towards market st you'll get into the more touristy areas, and if you venture further down the other way, you will find yourself in a pretty shitty area.

#14 My words of encouragement and stuff for u in TF2 General Discussion

hey just to point something out to "newer" open teams: it gets better later in the season. around the time of cp_metalworks, they start matching teams up to teams with similar records. keep practicing and scrimming and you'll find yourself better prepared for teams that are at your level or around it.

i mean, moose fortress lost almost all their matches in the first couple weeks of season 11 because of a tough schedule, and then turned around with a 10 game winning streak that put them in the top 10, made playoffs, and then made it to IM. it can happen to anybody.

#1 cp_metalworks rollout videos in Map Discussion

I found these random ones on youtube by this guy, but they're all in third person and a little hard to follow at times. i figure my team will probably be practicing the rollout we think would be best, but it'd be nice to know if there was a tried and true rollout.

help pls?

#54 ESEA s13 Open Preview in TF2 General Discussion

i think it's prudent to point out that all of these top 10 teams (and really the majority of open teams) have been scrimming regularly in the past few weeks. we've (playground tactics)tried to play as many high open teams (and a few IM teams) to see what the competition was like, as well as a few mid open teams because that was all we could find at the time. i would say we have a generally good idea of what to expect for our schedule and those of our competitors.

the point being, if the writer was playing at a level of mid+ open, then it would go to show his familiarity with this top ten (and really top 20) and the players on those teams. the criticism in the past is that he will look at match pages and roster pages and draw conclusions from stats. in some cases, it seems like the matches being discussed weren't actually watched at all.

and then this:

conductor People aren't really bashing him for any of his actual opinions that he wrote about, they're bashing him for publishing an article riddled with grammar/spelling mistakes and easily verified misinformations.

i appreciate that deathanchor is putting time into something that he is passionate about, and that facing a community of 60 teams full of "butthurt open players" can garner a lot of criticism, but it would be a mistake to ignore all that criticism and continue writing sub par articles.

#4 Open team lf combo in Recruitment (looking for team)

monkey and antwan are going to be a good scout pair. antwan MGEs/DMs like everyday, and shares some of the same DNA with lambert. monkey i have seen make huge improvements over the last couple months, and am greatly impressed with during pugs/scrims.

yarg has great jumps and makes market gardening viable. he's also really chill and never gets mad or anything. great roamer, great offclasser for just about any situation.

zambler is canadian and has never tasted taco bell, but his game sense is great. his rollouts are consistent, his damage is high, and thats all you can hope to have in a demo to be honest.

these guys have the DM, and know what to do in most common situations. they would benefit from someone that can call plays and a pocket who can make use of the opportunities that will undoubtedly be created by the flank on this team.

good luck guys, i love you all!

#10 Roamer LFT S13 in Recruitment (looking for team)

shootist has been a good friend, and someone that understands this game better than most people i know. really smart roamer, and has created some really hilarious moments in mumble.

he's been ready to play IM for awhile now, don't make him play another season of open.
