resurrecting this thread because i had a tf2 dream last night after taking 5 nyquil to go to sleep

so, it's season 9. for some reason i'm roster riding on Classic Mixup, who for some reason is in open.
open grand finals roll around, and enigma is offline. so are the rest of their backups. it is my time to shine.
it's me and moose on scout, platinum on pocket, smaka on demo, harbleu on medic, and i don't remember who was on roamer.

we're playing against indust we trust (who only existed in season 13 but whatever it's a dream)

the map is basically half Watchpoint: Gibraltar from Overwatch and half dust2 from CS, but it's all textured like a TFC map. moose and i decide to run shortstop to push people off the cliff and winger so we can jump to some good spots

the match starts and i'm doing great. as soon as the other team leaves spawn, smaka does a fuckton of damage and i clean up all 6 players. about halfway through the round, indust sends me a steam message "practice, persistence, perfection" and they start steamrolling the shit out of us

we lose the match and enigma posts a thread on tftv saying mixup would have won if he was there instead of me. i get so heated that i wake up

they're for a transition to 100% renewable energy

i should have made a new account when i returned to tf2. all of my dumbfuck 14-year-old shit talking plus other dumb shit i did will never escape me because of how small the community is. i try to be chill when it's brought up because i recognize my faults and there's no use in being defensive, but man it eats me up whenever i think about it. the worst part is, every player i talked shit to who still plays is really fucking good now because of how long it's been

i keep trying to play my old main in pugs to relive the glory days or whatever bullshit, but every ounce of ability I had in that class is completely 100% gone so i just make myself look like a fucking idiot every time

part of me regrets ever quitting tf2 even though i advanced so much in real life during that time (went outside, had friends, fell in love with music, decided on a career/college major, etc) which is fucking dumb because it's just a game, but i always imagine where i'd be skill-wise right now if i hadn't quit
