#54 all aboard in TF2 General Discussion

Yeah, I wouldn't read too much into cp_well being on that server, they have a good idea of our map pool and there was a strong emphasis on having a good variety of maps (I remember snow viaduct being discussed). Don't forget that we'll see a lot of the same maps we already play; Snakewater, Process, Badlands, Gully comes to mind.

I think flame is right in saying this is not the actual server config (24 slots, etc.), it's just a test server for the lobby and connecting part.

Very cool find.

#22 Mike Shinoda using software I wrote in Off Topic

SORRY WOOGS I've been super stressed lately so I read it as sarcastic. My bad.

bootsthat's pretty dope! how'd you get started developing music production software?

I went to school thinking this (and game dev) is the kind of stuff I'd like to know and do. I don't work there anymore but I'm thinking of spending time to make stuff independently.

fatswimdudei'm interested, what does it do specifically? why use it over alternative software?

also the UI seems very small, how did you keep it usable at that scale?

There's a lot more to it than the screenshot, so here's a short list:
- It's one of the few DAWs on iPad (and designed with using touch in mind). So, you can drag out different instruments and effects and link them through each other. Whether it's the right tool for you or not, that's really up to what you're looking for.
- That view in the screenshot is actually the zoomed out view. So, you can probably tell it's separated into 9 sections (3x3). If you tap on one section, it zooms in.
- The synth in question is iMini, it's a port of a desktop VST from Arturia (the MiniV), so it's a specific brand and set of sounds.

I don't work for them anymore, but it's pretty good software, and the audio quality of iMini especially is really good (the audio code is the same as on the desktop version). One of the Arturia audio engineers couldn't tell the difference between the two versions in a blind test.

Just wanted to share something that surprised me. It's super cool to see an artist I really like using stuff I wrote (and another synth from a friend). For reference, it's both the one on the bottom middle (and he has a 2nd one on the middle left) as well as the half-size effect on the middle right.

#43 Help get Epsilon to DreamHack in TF2 General Discussion

Just to add on tsc's post in case there's doubt:

MattCVWhat an earth would I be banned for, who have insulted / sworn at / made a crude jester too done anything other than state my opinion?

Or does tftv operate on a policy of banning those of have a minority opinion?

Don't create a strawman argument. Your opinion isn't even a minority one (nice victim blaming there), but we most definitely do not operate on banning based on popularity. Your opinion is not as important as you make it to be.

MattCVI could in fact question the admin as to why the post was removed in the first place.

I assume that they will turn around and accuse me of shit posting but I would never do such a thing I just feel very passionate about this.

It's not up to you to determine if you're shitposting (which, by the way, I proudly endorse SOME LEVEL of it) and/or breaking the rules. You're posting on TFTV and that means your post is under the scrutiny of the admins. People seem to misunderstand that this is ultimately a privately owned site. You're free to post what you like to an extent. I personally try to moderate as little as I can, and I ALWAYS lean towards giving the benefit of the doubt to posters. But you know what? At the end of the day, we're the law on this forum. So don't abuse that "Post Reply" button to constantly vomit your rote opinion everywhere. Do it right, do it reasonably, and there will be 0 problems.

#17 TF2 update for 10/15/15 (10/16/15 UTC) in TF2 General Discussion
deetrtrippadeetrWe have known it will be 6v6 and 9v9 with no class limits and no whitelist for like a month
when did they confirm there were no class limits exactly?

enigma or mana (cant remember which) said it on dashner's stream during the first night of esea gf

First off, it was me, and you better not ever fucking forget that, least of all confuse me with god damn enigma of all people. And you're remembering incorrectly. No limits was only our speculation; at the Valve meeting (which was in April, 6 months ago as of writing) they hadn't made a final decision.
