It looks like he already got picked up for the season, but in case he bumps this, I'll post.
Met him for the first time this past S16 LAN as roommates. Really nice, funny guy, relaxed. He definitely knew what he was talking about with regards to TF2, and he cares for this game (see Air's post). He also won't mess around with words, if there's a problem he'll spot it.

Sorry for the bad joke. For reals, here's Seagull's LAN setup.
He actually brought the hotel chair down into the LAN because it has armrests. Seagull uses them at home to let his arms relax and be able to play 16 hours straight (quoting from him) without getting sore in his arms. Also, his wrists are a bit sensitive and this avoids pressure on them. So if you have weaker wrists or want to try to game longer this might be a good setup.

CaspianDividing the community between two leagues last season was a huge blow to 6s.
Current registration for open divisions
ESEA: 9 teams with about 13 days left
CEVO: 24 teams with about 6 days left
Summer usually has a lower turnout but these numbers are pretty bad.
I don't think your conclusion from these numbers are good at all. Surely you know how many new teams spring up on the last day of signups? Not to mention all the teams that ESEA has hidden because they don't have anyone paid up yet.
I would also argue that the split was not a huge blow overall, maybe to ESEA alone. But that's not for here.
