From what I understand, any recent SSD it's fine if only because they've been made such that they'll last quite a while, for more write cycles than are normally realistic before buying a new SSD. But this is completely with a grain of salt.

DarkNecridDidn't really see it on the poster (forgive me if I missed it, wee bit tired), is this going to be streamed on tf.tv? Considering how these events pull quite a bit of viewers, it seems like a great way to promote tf.tv (and the Newbie Mixes!) and get people to check it out. Be even better if the guide up top was done and out by this, but I don't know if that's likely.
I'm handling the guides; I think it's very realistic to say that the spectator guide (i.e. the one that people only watching will read) will be pretty polished by then. That's my priority, at the moment.
caboosedashtmI like to turn off the score HUD
How do you do that?
/hud or !hud
lynaCan someone please clarify what counter jumping is to me? I'm sort of confused on what it is because of all the conflicting definitions I have gotten.
When you jump after the opponent has jumped so you have a higher ground than he/she. Gran mid, for example, it's pretty easy to do this.
Hey vanilla, I'm trying you out at the moment. I'm thinking of starting a DM/MGE group, just trying to figure out more of the logistics of how to gather everyone at the right time. I'm always up for it too, if I'm free. :)
ConnWhat's this rumor about Shrugger not going? It better be a troll.
It's false. Confirmed by proxy through DJC.
Me, Twitch John, at least, I think some of John's teammates are going as well.
thrasherDid you not read my whole post that you quoted? I said "or even going to". I fly and drive way too far for LANs all the time, and it's more about seeing friends and being social than playing games for me.
If you are going to ESEA LAN as a spectator that's cool, I don't blame you. My question however wasn't even directed at you, it was for think.
Fair enough, I see what you mean; that think is taking the work day off not to attend but to watch the game (he would have to clear that up I guess?). In that case, I guess it's more akin to Superbowl Sunday. :)
By the way, if you were legitimately curious, then I apologize for my tone; many people close to me that aren't from video games really don't understand how cool this is. It kinda irks me because it's really not much different than many other types of social gatherings.
thrasherYou actually requested off work for a LAN you aren't playing in, or even going to?
That is correct. And what of it? I'm having fun, and I'm spending that time with awesome people I like. It's not like it's super expensive for anyone who has a solid paying job; it's an in-country travel for an extended weekend.
Your tone really makes it sound like this is incredibly weird. People that are going (that aren't competing) are being social there. Is that supposed to be a bad thing now?
How does it make you feel that I flew up to Seattle to play at Emerald City LAN for the weekend, although I'm from California? I sure as hell had fun and thought it was well worth my time.
L-blockwho's got front row seats?
I've got front row seats
:)
edit: WHO'S ACTUALLY GOING. pls let me know thx
If think wants to keep track, he can edit his post to have a list of the non-LAN team people going. Otherwise someone should start a new thread.
EDIT: gram grams
I'm taking one day off for Sac LANFest and one day off for ESEA LAN. Even scheduled my flight to be the same as enigma's.
HYPE IS THE CORRECT TERM.
EDIT: also I'm sleeping with John
panzerxiiiPaalstf.tv mobile app
I hope that I'd be able to do something like that, if Enigma is okay with it maybe?
I'm sure he would be; I was going to raise it up with him too, but if someone else legitimately has the time, that'd be a good start. If you were only planning on an Android release, I could take part in an iOS release.
dashtmI wish they would drop shitmania and pick up tf2 or csgo
I tried to get in talks with them to pick up TF2, but the day we discussed it, IPL announced that they were stopping tournaments.
So.
RIP.
:(
IPL would've had TF2 long ago if Valve were more involved. That's something Shootmania had a solid hold over TF2.
KissmemanaKissmeBlizzard destroying their game's biggest competitive league...yea, I don't think so.They aren't IGN any more, they were sold off by Ziff Davis, which has just recently bought IGN.
I'm sure they have plans in the pretty near future for IGN.
I just called them IGN because I don't know what else to call them...The artist formerly known as IGN?
The former IPL team. They were a separate division inside IGN (i.e. not the news site).
