sorry to bump this again but I need someone who's good with this. i'm getting noticeable lag in the videos (not the actual game) when i watch them. i read something about having to adjust the file write speed but i have no idea how to do this, anyone have any experience with this?

this fixes it. i manually shut down steam when i reboot and i NEVER have to validate except if my computer/power dies or something.
