Do you have black friday sales in Finland? I did see a commercial on tv advertising a black friday sale here in Sweden, so I guess it's possible you have them aswell. It's so ridiculous, black friday is just another friday...

Ye I suspected that might've been the case. What a phony...

#15 class configs in Q/A Help
TwistedmoleI must have messed something up, when I press mouse2 it doesn't stop shooting.
I use
bind mouse2 "+jump;+attack"
which is the bind deetr posted.
Have you tried pressing mouse1 and your jump key at the same time instead?

yes.

Now can you help me or did just come in here to say that my bind is dumb?

EDIT: Fixed it. Found a script that I altered, probably a poor way of doing it but it works

alias +ctap "+jump;+attack"
alias -ctap "-jump;-attack"
bind mouse2 "+ctap"

#12 class configs in Q/A Help
m0nkeiPlease do not use scripts to assist your rocket jumping.

I was gonna bind mouse2 to both jump and shoot to make ctaps easier. I have probably spent a lot of time on jump maps so I certainly don't need help with basic rocket jumping. Ctap is one thing I haven't practiced, because very few jumps on jump maps are dependant on them, and they're not an absolute necessity in real games.

Hatim2.5k hours player needs help rocket jumping

ok

Maybe you can ctap just fine without a simple script, maybe I could learn to aswell, but I've been told by other players that a bind like the one I mentioned can help a lot. I know of prem players who use ctap binds. Don't act superior when you have no clue what I'm talking about.

Big thanks to deetr, camper, trash and kairu who actually helped with my problem!!

#4 class configs in Q/A Help
Woogiebugmake a notepad file called soldier.cfg and put
"bind mouse2 +jump
cl_interp ###"

do the saME foR oTHer classes

Wouldn't that just bind mouse2 to jump? And also I read something about having a reset file, do I need one and how do I set one up?

#1 class configs in Q/A Help

Hello I wanna create a class config for soldier (I don't have any current class configs) which binds mouse2 to jump and shoot. I've tried to make one for a little while now but I seem to be mentally challenged and can't figure it out. Also would like to make a script that changes interp from scout to soldier. Thanks.

EDIT: FIXED.

#134 DreamHack Winter 2015 TF2 Invitational powered by Marketplace.tf & esportunited in News
SheepylolBrimstonelol

Do you take Adderal to play better or something.

i'm not going to dreamhack but a few people who are going I would assume are taking some sort of medication that is prescribed for them. It clearly says "Alcohol and drugs in ANY form do not belong" doesn't this mean that anyone with any kind of drug legally prescribed or not won't be allowed in? This would mean me and many others wouldn't be allowed in right?

I remember at i55 they checked my bag for any outside alcohol when I went in so i'm guessing they will do the same at dreamhack.

No I'm certain you can bring in a legally prescribed drug in. In Sweden we have different words for pharmaceutical drugs and drugs like weed and cocaine. That's probably why that rule is poorly written.

I also don't think they will check your bag before you go in. I assume the reason why they checked it for alcohol at i55 was because they sell alcohol there and therefore you can't bring and drink your own. In Sweden you can lose your license to sell alcohol if a guest brought and drank their own alcohol in the bar lounge of your hotel, for example. I'd assume it's prohibited at insomnia aswell.

but I could be wrong im neither sober nor have I ever been to either dreamhack or i55

#34 Good FPS, but doesn't feel like it in Q/A Help
ComangliaJust fyi both of those badlands links you linked the same one twice (same url)

Also have you tried thinking out side of TF2? Maybe you have your refresh rate capped to 30Hz or some bs. Also noticed your launch options didn't include a -refresh 74

-edit-
btw on windows 10 every update they do you have to reapply overclock patches for HDMI/DVI etc basically every update

What does refresh 74 do?

#25 Good NON-MECHANICAL keyboard? in Hardware
joejoe347Yeah I'm not fully ruling a mech out, but form what I understand, nothing is going to be as quiet as the a membrane, so that's the main reason I'm opposed.

Someone told me the CM Storm the red switches would feel similar to my x4, so I'm currently looking into that because it's within my budget and has good reviews.

When people say mechanical switches, they usually mean a Cherry MX switches. Topre switches are very different from those, and more similar to a membrane, because like I said earlier it's literally just a rubber dome and a spring. Because of this they are about as quiet as a membrane.

Red switches aren't going to be close to the X4, the person who said that don't know anything about Cherry MX switches. The Cherry MX red switch is a linear switch, meaning that there's no "bump" when you press the key. I'd say that the Cherry MX brown switch is the most similar to a rubber dome out of the common Cherry MX switches, it's a somewhat silent tactile switch.

You should watch a video where someone showcases the most common Cherry MX switches and explains the difference between the switches. This video seems pretty good https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Qtr6D2TWBE

#21 Good NON-MECHANICAL keyboard? in Hardware
joejoe347maelstromare you hitler

ive never met anyone who didnt like mechanical keyboards

I can't stand the sound, so obnoxiously loud. Also I don't like how they feel. Whenever I try my friends, it feels like I have to push the keys so far to actually do anything.

It's mainly the sound though, so I'd be willing to try a mech that's quite like a membrane, but from what I understand that's almost impossible.
moleGet another sidewinder. It's one of the better rubberdomes. Btw, have you tried topre switches? They're like a middle ground between mechanical and rubber dome, since it's a spring beneath a rubber dome. They feel more like a rubber dome than MX browns for example, but they feel a lot more responsive and solid than most rubber dome keyboards. Here's a pic of the switch https://elitekeyboards.com/proddata/images/topreswitch405.png

I'm typing this on a HHKB pro 2, which is a keyboard with topre switches. feels good

Is it really clicky clacky?

No it's a quieter keyboard, sounds about as much as a rubber dome, or maybe slightly more. The sound is also deeper, it's more of a "thock" than a click/clack. Sounds like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fWPH7FAUfUY I, among many others, love the sound.

Also wanted to say that there are many different mechanical switches. Even if you don't like your friends mechanical keyboard, you might still like a mechanical keyboard with different switches.

ProSkeezThey're literally all the same

No, there's a huge difference between Sidewinder X4 and http://www.ptlcomputers.com/images/P/c01299053_1560x1144.jpg for example.

joejoe347I know this is an unpopular opinion or whatever but I really hate mechanical keyboards, so I'm looking for some membrane keyboard recommendations.

I've had a Microsoft Sidewinder x4 for the past 4 years, and it's starting to show it's age. That being said, I've had no problems with it, so I'm basically just looking for something similar.

Only thing I really require are media keys and toggleable backlight.

Currently thinking about the Razer Anansi. Anyone have experience it or similar products?

Thanks.
