#6 Zorin OS in Off Topic

I second the suggestion of Linux Mint, it's based on Ubuntu and runs Steam and Mumble just fine. The "Cinnamon" version has a GUI very comparable to Windows as well and is configurable via graphical interfaces in 99 % of the cases.

I'd also recommend installing your Linux distro next to Windows (dual boot), instead of replacing it. You have both operating systems installed and can switch over if you want or need to.

LibreOffice is the go to replacement for MS Office. Don't have experience with the GPU, sorry.

Site threw some 500s from time to time, this should be gone now. Still need to find some free time to add requested features. Also, there are a lot of submitted movies that haven't been reviewed yet.

The default values are usually shown when you're entering commands in the console.

Dunno if AVM sells in the US, but I've never had any issues with their Fritzboxes. Top quality product.

#15 Top 10 TF2 plays - March 2014 in Videos
raysWhat's required to make the top ten?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WERoFaJ5vVM

I know it's not an impressive streak, but it's still a 6k I got and was pretty happy about during a match that my team had at the end of March. I submitted the demo via the extv submission page. I'm not upset or anything; I'm just curious as to what the extv crew looks for in a play to deem it worthy of the top ten.

didnt make it in the top 10 too. :( Tastes differ I guess.

#10 Help with TF2 database design in TF2 General Discussion

If you're interested in seeing how ETF2L's database structure looks like, I'm sure we can send you a schema dump. May makes things a little easier for you. As always, things are a little more complicated than you think (playoffs, tiebrakers to name a few).

I'd suggest to examine the league system and the log of a match separately / independently at the beginning, as both are pretty complex.

Rusty_BodegaWould there be a way to embed videos not just through Youtube?

The reason I ask is because a lot of movie audio cannot be played on Youtube due to copyright issues. I think as long as this website remains unfunded by outside sources (ie: advertisements, banners, etc) it should be fine dealing with legality. [But this definitely is something to double check due to it being powered through Steam.]

The coolest thing would be an exact PLDX clone, which doesn't rely on any video platform (e.g. YouTube) and where you could upload your video files directly instead without having to deal with lower quality because of forced reencoding. However, hosting such service would require beefier servers. Beefier servers are more expensive, and unfortunately I don't shit money. :/

Thanks, I'll fix that in a moment Bloodsire.

Duplicates / mirrored videos is an issue right now, I'll need to figure out a clever way how to prevent them. The sheer amount of movies submitted in the first 2 days makes it hard to uphold the quality, but I'm confident we will sort out the black sheeps eventually. Maybe some kind of reporting system would be cool?

well boys another 100 movies are awaiting moderation, we need some help reviewing them. Especially because some movies are blocked in Germany which makes it hard to tag them correctly. :D Please give me a shout when you feel like wanting to help (you do).

Blooddrunk luckily joined me to help checking all submitted movies, we're making progress (still ~ 30 to review). If you want to help out too, contact me.

Surfing can be added as well of course, I wasn't aware people make surf movies as well! Feel free to submit them already.

What does the community think of adding Top 10 movies? I'm not the one to decide that, if you want it, we'll add them.

Better filtering is on my to do list, it's just a bit trickier to implement.

Expandable views for most viewed / most recent will also be implemented. Thanks for the suggestions. o/

rowrowFrag Movies? SFM Movies? Are there any restrictions to what's added to the site?

Mostly frag / jump movies. SFM movies is a different niche imo.
