rap rock + cutesy radio pop rock production and instrumentation may be the most offensive combination of things I've ever heard. it's like a mix of P.O.D. and that "dumb ways to die" song. I try to keep an open mind but I'm actually unhappy that I heard that.

I wouldn't recommend just asking people what headphones are good and throw your money at whatever they say, OP.
The best thing you can do is spend time researching on your own to understand your options because then you'll better understand what you're buying and why you want to buy it. Like, I have AKG K240s because, after doing some research, I decided that I would prefer open or semi open headphones so that the sound can "breathe" and I decided that I'd prefer over ear instead of on ear since that sounded more comfortable. I had no idea what open and closed meant before buying these, and I had no idea what on or over ear meant before buying these. But I'm glad I learned instead of buying what was recommended to me, ATH M50s, because they're on ear, closed, and favor bass, which is a combination of things I wouldn't personally dig.
What I'm saying is, you don't seem to know what you want since you didn't specify anything in your original post other than your budget, so I think it's best to do enough research to find out what you want, and then make a choice based on your preferences. If you're reading this thread right now and you have no idea what people mean by "open back vs closed back" or "noise cancellation" then it's definitely best to check out some guide on buying headphones just so that you understand all the stuff that should be taken into account to make a truly good purchase. It's a mild timesink but it's worth it to be a better consumer; plus you'll be more loyal to your headphones if you know why you bought them down to every last detail.
Check out head-fi.org for a headphone buying guide, or go to the /g/ board on 4chan and look through the stick for visual based guides.
I'm not huge on rap but I recognize this name. Never listened to anything by him though. Seems to have a great flow, and the beat sounds kinda 90s old school (which I've come to understand isn't what certain people think of when they think of old school). The trumpet and what sound like string samples are a nice touch. Not sure how I feel about the lyrical content itself, but eh.
I honestly wish I could like King Krule. He's a great guitar player, his songs have an undeniably cool/brooding atmosphere, and I love his lyricism. Dude just knows how to write a song. But I just can't get over his voice. From what I've come to understand, it's sort of make-or-break sort of thing. I enjoy baritone voices in rock/pop (Ian Curtis, Jim Morrison, Stephin Merritt, etc) but fuck me the way this guy sings drives me nuts.
As for this particular remix, I'm not really big on it. A big draw for King Krule for me (since I dislike his vocals) are his guitar work and his lyrics which just seem to take a backseat to the beat, which is admittedly solid. It's not really horrible but it's just not my cup of tea.

just got home after a long day at work ;)
where have you been all my life
rosiewhats the point of music reviews i dont understand it
step 1) be passionate about x
step 2) have opinions because you're passionate about x and want people to read them
that's literally all that needs to happen for you to want to write reviews about things. movies, games, food, whatever.
Snowdreamstart on rym/sputnik
also, this. rym's community is the least shitty if you want to develop a following of any sort. it'll be a good place to practice and get a handle on your writing style. then when you feel comfortable, start a tumblr (just suck up your pride and do it, every other blog website is dead) and just hope that people enjoy your stuff.
sad fact is that music journalism is a fruitless thing to try to get into. we're not all that kid from Almost Famous, and theneedledrop is a hollywood-tier success story (guy posts on /mu/, buys a webcam, suddenly gets thousands of regular viewers for no reason). good luck though.
Menth_music is subjective
???
Why on earth do people pay money to play unfinished games that have no promise of turning out any good, or even worse, no promise of being finished period?
The raffles are cool I guess and the game seems neat but I will never understand or respect peoples' decision to continue supporting this "early access" model.
i know the stickybomb fix is huge and most people don't care about mannpower, but did they just fucking BUFF vampire?
what is happening.
friendly reminder that inside jokes don't make good threads unless you're an invite level player
Sheepylolkevare u kidding me

this entire album is like a lullaby for the soul
KevinIsPwnI don't understand how people fall asleep listening to music. I sometimes turn on relaxing music to keep myself awake so I can lie down and relax a bit. Like, is it not distracting?
it's a matter of finding the right music imo. i've always felt like everybody's got some piece of music that will put them at such an extreme state of ease that they can just fall asleep to it, they just gotta find it. like the OP posted Music for Airports which i listen to exclusively to study alongside, but it's so calming that i can see how someone could fall asleep to it. it's a case by case basis and idk if anyone could really explain why a certain song or album or whatever puts them to sleep (in a good way)
Foxi play wes anderson movies on my laptop while i go to sleep every night for the past week
