#32 Big announcement from tfcl (Free lan travel) in TF2 General Discussion

Out of the 12 teams you are willing to pay flights for, 8 teams will be complete losers because there's a maximum of 4 teams that can compete at a reasonable level in NA.

If you actually have the money to back the project up, don't waste money on the 8 bottom feeder teams and bring in 4 really good teams instead, from all over the world.

FunsflyingbuddyWhat's your craziest LAN story?
Or if you don't have one, what's the craziest LAN story you've heard of?
at i55 I drank some alcohol, you can ask someone else about that one

So back in i55 one of my friends (FIR) had gotten Funs so drunk he was almost at the verge of passing out. So for like fifteen minutes I had to take care of this 15 year old underage drinker and tell him encouraging and positive things until we basically asked the security to take care of him instead. I had no idea who he was at the time, just some random kid.

One year later I learn that the kid I took care of was Funs and that he is actually an amazing scout. Wtf.

AdnurakThere's no good reason americans should want to give up their guns,

There's a very good reason Americans should want absolute psychopaths not owning guns (or cars).

Max_ReeroJust a reminder that it is very difficult to obtain an automatic weapon, and the weapon used by the shooter was a semi-automatic rifle modified to be shot automatically. Just want to put that out there.toads_tfReeroJust a reminder that it is very difficult to obtain an automatic weapon, and the weapon used by the shooter was a semi-automatic rifle modified to be shot automatically. Just want to put that out there.has there been concrete information released on the firearms? i'd like to see it if there is, as i've heard all sorts of stuff
I've seen in several different places he most likely used a technique called bump firing

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bump_fire

There are so many guns in the US and the gun culture is so ingrained into the US it is pretty much literally impossible to take away guns. In 2009 there were about 310 million registered guns in the US. That was 8 years ago and doesn't include illegal guns. It doesn't matter if making guns illegal is the right thing to do it's feasibly not possible. Likewise with the US changing from imperial to metric, it's logistically impossible to do at this point

Also it's the second amendment right to bear arms not the first fyi

The reason things don't change isn't because they are impossible to change. The reason things don't change is because people don't want things to change. And it has devastating consequences.

#348 tftv safe space (no harassment plz) in Off Topic

The anger and hopelessness is just overwhelming and I'm just spending day after day hoping it will fade away. Everything feels like a grind and I can't stop overanalysing past events that led to my worsened mental health. The anger and irritability keeps me up at nights and affects my school performance. I'm trying so fucking hard right now but there is no end in sight for the struggle I'm going through. I am scared that I will some day lose it and break the façade I've been upholding, but that would cause irrepairable damage. I just want to be rational and reasonable, but I just can't forgive. It's so painful.

#61 ETF2L S27 W5: ANTIC vs. Se7en in Matches
kaidusHonestly the guys who have been cheering him on for the past three weeks when he's been in this state should take a look at themselves too. The amount of positive reinforcement puoskari has received whilst doing these sorts of antics is pretty disgraceful. He clearly has issues underlying the substance use, some of which definitely seem to be to do with interpreting social behaviours. Being egged on by hundreds of people was only ever going to go one way with someone so seemingly vulnerable. It doesn't excuse the behaviour, but everyone should take personal responsibility for themselves before condemning this guy, and from my perspective people other than puoskari himself have given very poor accounts of themselves.

People didn't cheer on him because of his substance abuse, people cheered on him because he was seen as an upcoming top player. This is 100% normal and will happen to anyone who has proven to be a good player in some way or another.
