I guess I've been pretty unlucky with Fios. From having two defective routers to random outages and then my ping spiking up and down randomly for a month or two and claiming they couldn't help or weren't responsible for it (they suggested we upgrade our speeds to see if that fixed it and what do you know it did) Verizon has been a headache. At least that's not happening to others.

Does he have a car he took to work or a cell phone that can be traced? Also you should probably check with any other family/friends/coworkers to see if he hinted at any of this with them.
