Thanks for your suggestions, but for some reason what fixed it was doing the launch option thing instead of using mat_dxlevel, probably silly of me to not try that earlier. Just out of interest does anyone know why is it recommended to take the -dxlevel xx out of launch options after first launch?
Basically whenever I deal any damage to an enemy when running the game with mat_dxlevel 90, 91, 95 or 98 the game crashes. I normally use a high frames config (pretty similar to chris's).
Build: EVGA GTX 660 Ti not overclocked
I5 3570k not overclocked
Windows 7 with Aero disabled
also happens on my laptop, a second generation MacBook running Windows 7 with Windows Classic theme.
Can anyone help me? Thanks
Mine does this when i run in dx9 for some reason, a while back i just changed to dx8 and now it runs fine.
the smartest new meme is trolling people on the internet by being nice
I have an old second gen macbook pro which I use sometimes, cpu is intel p8700 with an nvidia 9400m. With a ton of tweaks (oc'd, maxframes, no hats, basic windows theme, the works) I can average 60ish fps in pubs at 1280x800 (weirdly lower res didn't affect my fps). Still get significant mouse lag though.
This is great, but the fact that every time TF2 is written it's put in quotation marks is really weird and jarring
I've heard that the newest nvidia drivers don't work for two 144hz monitors, try rolling back to 327.23 or something
edit: sorry misread, try it anyway tho
about the escape plan nerfs: if the escape plan had always been like it is now, and suddenly you didn't take minicrits, we'd call it ridiculously OP. Honestly, as it is, it fulfils its purpose (ie pocket rollouts and idiotic melee rushes), and it's one of the weapons that has been fixed well.
that said the fucking reserve shooter WHY
if you don't like your current kana v2, you probably won't like an FK, they're relatively similar in shape and sensor quality. If you like a *full* palm ergonomic mouse, and you rest all of your fingers parallel to the table, get a g400. Otherwise go for the deathadder or the rival, i've heard it's relatively similar to an IE 3.0.
WaldothrasherI'm an idiot who plays lefty (I'm right handed). Playing lefty I feel more comfortable doing jumps from the left. The original is better for me.There's a setting which swaps viewmodels to the left, surprisingly it also switches where rockets/pipes/etc come from, cl_flipviewmodels 1/0.
wait what? so if I had a bind to switch viewmodel sides and use stock then I could peek both left and right corners more effectively than original?
I have a pair of HD-380s, which are considered as a kind of Sennheiser equivalent to M-50s but with tighter bass and stronger mids. HD-598s are a great choice if you're ok with open headphones, but honestly as long as you buy something from a brand oriented towards audiophiles (ie sennheiser, grado, beyerdynamic) you're getting what you pay for.
i really liked it actually, i was expecting a downhill turn but it was pretty nice
good frags and perfect edit, that bowswer5 clip @_@
