people get annoyed, for better or for worse, when younger players talk too much about useless things
i imagine if you dont talk too much about dumb things and just communicate normal calls there shouldnt be a problem
i dont know if viewers from outside the circle of competitive players feel the same way as we do here on tftv but often it just feels like you lack awareness for the details of the game which are most interesting at any given point in the match.
as an example, a person who is vocal about details of the game when he casts, and i understand this isnt exactly a fair comparison, is bl4nk: often when he casts he calls out details which to the casual viewer seems uninteresting but to a competitve player who is watching the stream somewhat critically (i think a lot of us do this subconsciously) it is the most interesting.
again, this is on the far side of the spectrum: i dont think anyone expects a super critical cast but my point is that if you want to appeal to the group of competitive players who watch matches semicritically then the only solution i can possibly think of for you is to actually start playing the game a lot, instead of just exclusively casting
im also confused about the decision not to run it BUT
its not entirely out of the realm of possibility that pete carroll and his boys might have thought that the patriots defense figured that stopping lynch would win them the game and in turn decided that running the ball wouldnt be optimal???
idk i desperately hope thats somewhat the case because otherwise its a big headscratcher
EDIT: ok i watched the replay like a thousand times and butler was ready to pick off the pass like 5 seconds before wilson even threw it what the fuck seahawks
Vini_Anywhere to watch online? I don't have ESPN... :/
its going to be on NBC
As a current undergraduate in mathematics I notice that lots of math students struggle with explaining clearly how they arrived at a certain solution - being unable to do this for a simple problem makes it near impossible for one to be able to even begin to attempt a difficult problem. The regular calculus courses do not require this ability so it's not a huge problem for anyone outside of mathematics, so this is really only an issue that concerns courses that math students encounter. Then, since the number of these students is relatively low (one major among hundreds), common core doesn't seem aimed at relieving this specific problem. Poo.
That being said, I can't help but wonder whether this might actually deter students from pursuing mathematics (or maybe increase the interest????) since they get a taste of the "pedantry" that is required by a lot of higher level math courses. A lot of students pursing a mathematics degree are looking to teach or to go into finance, at least at my school, and perhaps not by coincidence these seem to compose the majority of students that struggle with explaining their solutions. Maybe common core would help give these people earlier exposure to this side of math which no longer stresses computation.
I'm in mathematics not to teach or to go into finance or any of that - I'm studying it because I absolutely love it. I cringe whenever I hear other math students ask a question like, "Will we be required to write a proof for this exam?" or "Do we need to explain our answers?" To me, how one arrives at a results is the solution itself - while I'm not going to claim that all mathematicians think this way, I know a good number of them feel the same way. If I give you a problem and you give the result of some mysterious computation, then I will look at you as if you gave me nothing at all (provided I didn't give you a trivial problem, of course). You have no solution, in my eyes.
All that being said, I'm not convinced that common core is worth the effort. Frankly, the mathematics I study isn't for everyone and isn't too useful to anyone save for a small number of people, namely those who do math all day (which I basically do) and while I'd be thrilled if this did help more people think the way I and a lot of my peers do, I'd be even more heartbroken if it brought more students to claim that they "hate math."
for any newer open team thats really serious about trying to improve and compete mew will be a good fit, as he too is serious about playing this upcoming season. hes an excellent communicator, a cognitive listener, and in general great conversationalist
also bonus if you have a girl gamer on your team she will likely be wooed by mew
miwo is one of my personal favorite names
JAMES BLAKE MORE LIKE JAMES BLAZE
you're stating it as if its not your opinion
like you're making it sound like i cant disagree
and the nba finals is one of my favorite parts of the year
hi i want to play tf2 for you, as scout or possibly demo. i should be free most evenings starting tonight.
i did play a short-lived season in ugc silver as pocket last summer, but we hardly scrimmed and we didnt play many matches, so i'd consider myself completely new. i have played numerous pugs here and there but in an environment with decent players i think my inexperience really shows.
thus i dont have any expectations on how experienced of a team i want to be on - it could be the lowest of low open. i just want to play on a team that i can scrim with very regularly, hopefully watch demos as a team, and just get better.
i do feel that scout is my most productive class, but i will gladly try out as demo. i think this might turn some people off, but i will state that my preference is to play in CEVO. regardless, i will still try out for teams in ESEA - it's just, my preference will sit with a CEVO team.
"lebroning" is the worst thing thats come out of a finals game in a long time
people suck
really awesome person in spite of excessively foul mouth
excellent player
imagine being an investigator and having to read his fuckers "manifesto"
