It felt good to beat a team like mTs, just like it felt good to beat tangerine with b4nny and cyzer playing. But I would be shocked if anyone on bonus got much of an ego from it. We pretty much all understand that if invite players practiced HL anywhere near as much as 6s it would be completely different.
It does bother me a little when some invite players make comments about HL that make the format seem like a complete joke. I could be wrong about this, but it seems like that kind of view sets an example for a lot of other people in the 6s community. Me and some of the people from bonus made an esea open team this season, and I was surprised by how many people tried to troll us or talk shit about us just because we were HL players. I guess shit talk will happen regardless, but I can see why some people who enjoy playing HL would feel ostracized. That's just been my experience in open though.
As far as the original topic goes, if anyone even cares anymore, we have squider playing scout for us this season, and it's been very interesting listening to his perspective in terms of calling and strategy. I wouldn't say it's drastically changed anything in our meta-game, and squider doesn't always make the right calls, but he's definitely been teaching us some things about pushing, advantages, and positioning. I would say the biggest change has been making the game a little more fast paced with more aggressive and coordinated plays, especially more capitalization on small advantages. I think if HL continues like this it will only get better and more organized. And that's why platinum teams like us really wanted the invite limit lifted in the first place.
