#41 rays lft high open/im scout in Recruitment (looking for team)

Well, apparently things didn't work out with the whole team this season, so I'm on the market for a new team, if anyone's still looking for a scout. :<

I should have room on my friends list if you want to contact me for a tryout, but on the offchance I don't, just post here and I'll make room for you. Thanks ahead of time. <3

I might not have the best dm, but I'll do whatever I can to improve, promise.

JohnnyZInstaller crash after click on install.
Can you add some bigger crosshair circle? like this
But my team loves this !!!

I'll see what I can do.

As far as the installer crashing, mind posting the data from the log.txt file that should be in the same folder as the installer? It should look something like this:

====================

2013-04-27T12:54:01 - Extracting new hud files from zip.
2013-04-27T12:54:01 - Copying default hud files into tf directory.

2013-04-27T12:54:02 - Configuring minimal ctf display.
2013-04-27T12:54:02 - Configuring spy disguise image.
2013-04-27T12:54:02 - Updating files.

That way we can identify where the crashing occurs in the installer and hopefully fix it in a later version. Thanks again, and glad you like the hud!

Just wanted to bump this to let you all know I'm not dead and am definitely looking at your suggestions! If you have any more bugs/feedback to give, just drop it in my thread here or in my steam group.

I've been busy graduating high school and going to college orientation and all that, but now that I'm finally on summer break, I have a lot more free time. Thanks again to everyone who's using the hud currently or have used it in the past. None of this would've been possible without you guys, and I appreciate every one of you. <3

#147 College in Off Topic

Will be attending the University of Texas at Austin in the fall, just went to my orientation Monday through Wednesday of this week.

It's a really nice campus, and I'm thankful that I was able to get a scholarship to be able to go to school there. If there's anyone from the comp. community that's in that area, you're welcome to add me, as I move in in two or so months.

#2 Adding Custom Crosshairs to Default Hud? in Q/A Help

If it did something such as remove your HUD completely, it's probably the result of either one too many/too few curly braces (which look like { and }, if you don't know what those are), or you're missing/added one too many quote signs to your ClientScheme.res. Double check all of the things you edited to make sure that you didn't accidentally mistype something.

EDIT: Since you're using the default HUD too, you'll have to extract the .gcf in order to actually access the default HUD's scripts/resource folders, too. However, I don't know how to do this ever since the switch over to steampipe. :<

#3 issues with installing a hud crosshair font in Q/A Help

If this is the font you're using, try changing the following values in ClientScheme.res to look like this:

"SexyLoveHearts"
{
"1"
{
"name" "Sexy Love Hearts"
"tall" "48"
"additive" "0"
"antialias" "1"
}
}
"18"
{
"font" "resource/SexyLoveHearts.ttf"
"name" "Sexy Love Hearts"
}

#24 How well do AMD cpus do in tf2? in Hardware
OblivionageraysJOEhttps://teksyndicate.com/videos/amd-fx-8350-oc-vs-i5-3570k-oc-battle-continues

I use the 8350, no issues with tf2 at all. Always 240+fps with a 7850

What FPS config do you use? I have the 8350 as well, but with my GTX 680, my average FPS in scrims/pubs is around ~170ish with dx9frames. Which is nice, but I was expecting I'd be able to get better performance than that.

can you list your specs rays? I think something is bringing the 8350 down and it probably isn't the 680. Perhaps it's overheating? What's your ram frequency and temps as well?

CPU - AMD FX-8350 @ 4.0GHz
GFX - SPARKLE GTX 680 2GB
Memory - 8GB g.skill Sniper Series (2x4GB) 1866
Monitor - Acer GD235HZ, 120Hz (primary) + Asus VE245, 60Hz (secondary)
Headset - Turtle Beach Earforce PX-21
Mouse - Razer DeathAdder 3.5G
Mousepad - Generic OCZ mousepad
Keyboard - Generic eMachines keyboard
Connection - TWC Ultimate - 50 down/5 up

Sorry about the late reply, I was out of town all weekend. I just copied and pasted this from my Twitch page though, so if you need any more info, let me know.

#4 hud editing tutorial - transferring hud crosshairs in TF2 General Discussion
RyanNot sure if this makes any difference, but in KBNHUD, the crosshair I use involves two aspects, the pulsing circle that pulses on damage, and the actual crosshair (a square dot).

That would be:
*CODE*

Those two. What do I have to do differently in order to transfer that? I feel like I just do what you said but do it for both, but I want to make sure not to break anything. :c

The "HudxHairDot" should install just fine, as it's purpose is to remain on at all times. The xHairCirclePulse, however, is only supposed to appear when damage is done (if I'm understanding you correctly). Because it's intentions are for it to only appear when damage is done, that also requires modifying your HudAnimation_tf.txt file in your scripts folder, which is a few more additional steps.

If there's enough interest for this, I can do a tutorial on having a crosshair either flash or change colors when damage is done.

Edit: So I did what you said for the first one, but got stuck once I searched "Formas germetricas 1" which is the thing I found in:
"xHairCirclePulse"
		{
			"1"
			{
				"name"		"Formas germetricas 1"
				"tall"		"30"
				"weight"	"0"
				"antialias"	"1"
			}
		}

All there was in ClientScheme.res was that one time it said it though, nothing at the bottom. What do I do?

It's referring to the font "FORMASGE". A way you can check this is by right clicking the font file itself -> Properties -> Details.

In the "Title" field, you should find the name that corresponds with the name in the ClientScheme.res file. Sorry I didn't make this clear in the tutorial! It's always important to check, because sometimes people will rename the font files they're using.

#1 hud editing tutorial - transferring hud crosshairs in TF2 General Discussion

Hey guys, it's rays.

For a long time, I've been wanting to do a series of tutorial-type videos relevant to hud editing, but never got around to it. With summer right around the corner though, I finally decided to put it into action. Without further ado, here's the first video in the series:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wPH6On2F0Pw

I apologize that the editing it nothing fancy. (In fact, it's just a raw video upload, haha) I plan to kinda spice it up a bit in the future, but the .mp4 files that OBS were creating we're cooperating with my copy of Sony Vegas.

That being said, I hope this tutorial is at least somewhat helpful to those who are a tad confused.

I would like feedback though, so if you guys can leave me ideas of ways I could improve the videos/commentary (I know I'm pretty bad at that, for sure), or other ideasf or hud-related tutorials you'd like to see, I'd be very appreciative.

All of the videos in the future will be posted on my new YouTube channel:

raysfiyah.

Thank you.
