#8 Removing your score from scoreboard in Q/A Help

I believe the field you're looking for is called "PlayerScoreLabel". It's in the ScoreBoard.res file, and should look something like this: (assuming you're using my hud)

	"PlayerScoreLabel"
	{
		"ControlName" "CExLabel"
		"fieldName" "PlayerScoreLabel"
		"font" "Cerbetica20"
		"labelText" "%playerscore%"
		"textAlignment" "center"
		"xpos" "c-368"
		"ypos" "310"
		"zpos" "3"
		"wide" "140"
		"tall" "20"
		"autoResize"	"0"
		"pinCorner" "0"
		"visible" "1"
		"enabled" "1"

		if_mvm
		{
			"visible" "0"
		}
	}

And I'm sure you already know this, but to remove it, simply make the xpos/ypos values to a really high value. (I use "9999" in my hud)

This section should be somewhere around the middle of the file.

#5 fvl lft scout; high open/low IM in Recruitment (looking for team)

The greatest.

Constantly outplayed me every game. I'm glad I got to play with her for so long, best scout partner ever. Solid comms, rarely out of position, and crazy DM.

She could do well on any IM team, easy.

Thanks for the kind words, guys. <3

I've been contacted by a few people already, but am always looking for more tryouts on the off chance that I might find a new home.

If my list is full or you can't get a hold of me, just post in the thread and I'll make room for you.

#1 rays lft high open/im scout in Recruitment (looking for team)

Hey guys.

Looks like Sunday Funday won't be playing this next season. I know it's kinda late, but I figured I'd go ahead and throw my name out there just in case anyone else needed someone.

I probably don't have any right to look for an IM team seeing as my DM is literally the worst thing ever, but I like to think I have pretty decent gamesense at least some of the time. :<

Also, I stream scrims, but if you happen to have an issue with that, just let me know.

If you'd like to contact me, here's my SteamID:

Past experience includes:

Sunday Funday CSN Summer Tournament (Lost in 2nd round to ex.)
Sunday Funday Summer Tournament 2011 (forgot host..) (Lost in 2nd round to eMg)
Sunday Funday UGC Platinum 6s, 2011 (3rd)
Sunday Funday CEVO (last season before the old one died)
Sunday Funday ESEA S11 (Open)
Sunday Funday ESEA S12 (Open, playoffs)
Sunday Funday ESEA S13 (IM)
Sunday Funday CEVO (first new season, 5th or something)
Algoraphobia ESEA S14 (IM, rip :<)

Version 3.4 is out!

It includes the following changes:

-An updated bold font to make health/ammo numbers look less pixelly. (WINDOWS ONLY)
-Fixes to the positioning of some elements in the centered team select menu.
-A few minor positioning/color fixes on various hud elements.
-The ability to cycle through pages in your backpack with the A/D keys.

You can get it here:

https://github.com/raysfire/rayshud/archive/4f22d788bc042404a0a55f95ffcbe21e11e924fd.zip

Or via the installer by Tree:

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/18079550/rayshud%20installer%20v2%20steampipe.zip

_____

MAC USERS:

First off, I'm sorry the fonts aren't perfect just yet. Since I didn't have a mac to test them, I couldn't 100% be sure that they were positioned correctly or that they function as needed. I'm doing my best to fix it for you guys, but since I'm busy with school, you probably won't see an update until I graduate in June. If I have some time though during the month, I'll see what I can do.

Second, if you're on a mac and are using my hud, you'll now need to delete the Clientscheme.res in place and replace it with the ClientScheme-mac.res in your resource folder, just like you were already doing with the fonts. Sorry for the inconveniences. :(

#33 Building a new PC in Off Topic
KiritohookyKiritoIf you guys don't know, the FX-8350 beats the i5-3570k in most games AND streamingI believe that's what Rays has, and he said he feels like he's not getting great framerates (as in, not as good as people who have 3570ks). Some TF2 specific testing would be nice, I've only seen newer games (like Far Cry 3, Crysis 2, BF3) used to test, and I think all of those use more than 2 cores, while I've heard that TF2 only uses a max of 2. You have to remember that people with an i5 3570k won't have the exact same stream settings. Besides, Rays IS streaming at 60 FPS, so that really drops his frame rates down.

While it's true that I do stream at 60 FPS and OBS handles it quite well, a few days ago I ran that TF2 benchmark when I wasn't streaming. At stock speeds with Chris' dx9frames, this was my result:

2639 frames 30.184 seconds 87.43 fps (11.44 ms/f) 3.084 fps variability

This is with ragdolls on, and my FX-8350 running at stock speeds (4.0GHz). With them off, my FPS rises up to about ~95-100.

Whereas someone a few posts about me with a i5 3570K at 3.4 GHz (also stock), was able to average ~115 fps with the same config, dx9frames.

2639 frames 23.469 seconds 112.45 fps ( 8.89 ms/f) 4.687 fps variability

In order for my own FX-8350 to reach those speeds, I had to overclock it at 4.8GHz; and I haven't yet been able to overclock my PC successfully so that's not even really an option. (Partially because I'm new to the OCing business and am worried of killing my PC)

If it's possible I'm missing some key component to making my game run smoother, it'd be super nifty if someone could tell me. :o

kenCould the installer still work after this recent tf2 update?

Just download this version, and you'll be fine:

TreeRayshud Installer

DOWNLOAD LINK 1.3 STEAMPIPE

Update 1.3 4/25/13:
-Now works with steampipe

NOW WORKS WITH STEAMPIPE. THIS WILL NOT WORK WITH TF2 WITHOUT STEAMPIPE.
If you manually installed rayshud after the update, please delete it before running the installer.

KNOWN BUGS:
-Backups no longer work.
-Enabling konrwings, and wings at the same time will make konrwings invisible.

It seems to me like something had to have happened that messed up a vast majority of your hud files upon system restore, causing some of them to be replaced with old versions, etc.

What my advice to you in terms of what to do is I would first remove all of the hud files you have in place (making sure to back up, assuming you might want to use them again), then launch the game. If the default hud is there, it means that you successfully removed all remnants of my hud and you're working with a clean slate.

From there, you should be able to open up the installer (with your saved settings), and just simply reinstall.

While it's alright a majority of the time to just layer hud files on top of each other, sometimes things get messed up and a clean install usually fixes it any issues.

If your hud is still there, and not reset back to the default, then it's either a filepath error (meaning that you're installing/messing with files in the wrong directory.. it's what my issue was originally), or Steam sync messing things up.

Is it just the color settings that aren't saving, or is it just not installing any of your options at all? Because if it's the former, that is indeed odd and I'll have to look in further to be able to help you. If it's the latter, than it just means that either it's installing the hud to the wrong directory, or potentially an issue with steam synchronization.

If you have two drives, make sure that TF2 didn't accidentally get installed on the wrong one when switching over to Steampipe. If you want to double check the drive the game is installed on, navigate to your Steam library, right click TF2, go to properties, then go to the "Local files" tab. At the top of the window it should list the drive the game is installed on.

cyberneticReverbHmm, after a technical difficulty (moreso a brief human error causing the computer to lose power, and thus forcing a system restore for some reason...), I've had to reinstall the hud and dig up my old scripts, the scripts went in fine, the hud went a little less than optimal.

Currently I've settings set up with a combo of wings as the crosshair, (Being WingsPlus, WingsSmallDot, and KonrWings) set up custom colors for the crosshairs + hud, and then I press the Install command on your updater (Steampipe ready). what ensues is the confirmation it installs correctly, but alas, when I go into TF2 and load up a game, I have no crosshairs, none of the colors I edited, and none of the animations selected. It seems to be going on the install I had pre-steampipe, despite me removing it prior to the conversion.

Make sure you're using the new Steampipe updater, and that you have it pointing to the appropriate folder in your PC. (Make sure it's directed to go to steamapps/common/team fortress 2/tf/custom/rayshud, rather than the the old directory of steamapps/<yourusername>/team fortress 2/tf/). Also, if you have any errors with having both wings and KonrWings enabled, it's a bug with the installer. If you have issues with the crosshairs, you'll have to enable them manually in hudlayout.res. We hope to fix this issue in a later version of the installer, but unfortunately it's been a persistent bug we hope to iron out in a later version.

This has been an issue a lot of people have been having with Steampipe, as there aren't clear instruction on how to transfer over custom content properly. Luckily we were able to opt into the beta and prepare an installer beforehand.

cyberneticReverbHey rays, amazing hud, I've used it for quite a while now, and recently updated to Steampipe, and I enjoy using your Installer for it, it's simple and easy to use - aside from previews not working, so I can't exactly grasp what it's going to look like in-game. (Also any updates on fixing the Fighter Pilot crosshair for use on 16x9 + 4:3 resolutions?) Cheers, and keep up the amazing work. c:

Hi there. Is there something wrong with the fighter pilot xhair in a 4x3 resolution? The installer should now support all crosshairs at all resolutions, so assuming that you're on a standard 4x3 resolution, everything should work out.

In terms of what the crosshairs looks like, someone on here was gracious enough to make an album of them all. It can be found here:

Thanks for using the HUD! I'm glad you like it!

Irishhhhalright. Is there any chance a hud such as PV is interfering with the things im puting into the hudlayout.res folder? thank you for answering my stupid questions.

In order to have the least amount of problems with any HUD, it's always best to do a clean wipe of your resource/scripts folders before installing a new one, just to make sure nothing gets messed up/overwrited that doesn't need to be.

IrishhhhIs there a way to make your crosshair in console insead of going through the TF folder route. idk what im doing wrong in puting it into the folders but its not working.

If you mean a HUD crosshair, then no. HUD crosshairs can only be enabled via hudlayout.res in your tf/scripts folder.
