Lets try to get some pubbers to watch this great start of a season
For our sake, I hope this wasn't a successful reddit post for this match
With how long this "Pyro update" has been 'delayed' or hoped for, since the Pyro vs Heavy Campaign, I'm fairly certain Pyro is getting a whole lot of analysis from the developers and from other feedback being provided that will lead to balances in the way flames register, airblasts register, weapon changes that give risk/reward mechanics to Pyros that can punish them for being very strong flank classes.
Honestly the greatest point you bring up is the prize pool/sandbagging. This is an interesting issue because people who play well and reach the top of IM don't wanna head to Invite because they don't want to face the best of Invite and lose 80 bucks for fees just to die in the first few weeks or not even be a contender for the playoffs, so they reform in Open and take away the chance for others to climb to that sweet Invite dream.
Overall, the solution I see for one of these regards is to reduce the league fees in Invite so there's less of a downfall for not being top-of-invite caliber. Invite Prize Pool is important to the top of invite, but the steep fees seek only to undermine the playerbase of Invite.

Just curious, I've never used Faceit, what are the short-term/long-term benefits of points?
There's no rocket surfing maps (though that sounds really fun), but I have a few I've done that have gotten me in a scout jumping groove with strafing and max height (listed in order of preference):
jump_scoutmap_a1 (Very good strafing, Aiming, very short)
rickler_scout_jump_a1 (One of the better practices for max height/distance and good strafing)
cp_aperture_scoutjump (Good mix of max height double jumps and distance, minor strafing)
scout_jumper (Very ugly but very tight max height/distance jumps, platforming)
wdf_scoutjump_1 (Mediocre strafing and max height double jumps)
jump_scout_fixed (slightly challenging max height/distance jumps)
jump_scout_escape_b4 (decent platforming for max height/distance jumps)
jump_excavation2 (Some Scout, mostly soldier/demo, changes with each stage, fun map in general)
I know of 2 others but I couldn't find them in my jump server's list so idk what to tell ya. All these are on the Saxton Hell 24/7 jump server which lately is usually empty: 192.99.175.247:27015
Most scout maps follow the criteria of simple strafing through small windows or max height/distance double jumps. But that rocket surf one sounds like a good idea for a map.
We need a flow chart that ends on the offclasses that goes through every scenario
Woah ESEA added new features:
ESEA• Automatic live SpecTV for every match (unlimited number of spectators)
It stores momentum so you can rocket jump/sticky jump in that stuck spot and people can land on your head and get bounced.
as awful as 2fort is in a logical, map-made sense, aesthetically it's really kinda cool
Download STVs of matches from any season of ESEA still available and just kinda talk through them. Sitting in a mumble watching PUGs is also an option. Just get the practice in, the gamesense and such will come with time.
