We are looking for volunteers, contact me at s.emery@esportsarena.com if you're interested (must be at least 16 years old and on location).
What would the volunteer duties be? Is there a shift length are we able to choose timeslots?
Yup there are 4 shifts up for grabs- 2 days with 2 shifts each. Saturday morning is the biggest need at the moment.
We'd teach you but basically referee/admin stuff.

nick_If I bring my own 144hz monitor will I be able to safely leave it somewhere on the venue while I'm away or will I have to lug it around with me. Also if I'm playing in the open tournament will I have a PC reserved for the whole lan or just when I'm playing. Sorry if the answers are obvious, this'll be my first lan.
It's good to ask! This is a little different as usually for lans you pay for a seat and rent/bring your own pc, we provide the pcs so it's new.
You can leave your monitor at the front desk and we can keep it while you're away (there's always someone from the arena at the front desk), also I've inquired and we can keep it for you overnight. If you bring your own, we'll try not to move you during the tournament- given how few teams have signed up for open it's fairly likely no one will have to move. Once the tournament's over and they become free-play pcs you may want to leave a jacket or something on your spot so someone doesn't sit down, all pcs will be fair game after open is done.

As is customary, we all must feast before the great battle. Anyone up for a large group dinner for Friday night? I'm not local but for those who are, any suggestions on locations to go? It's definitely a nice experience and good for bonding before fragging.
i have large respect for this place, which is spitting distance: https://www.yelp.com/biz/la-rinconada-restaurant-santa-ana standard mexican food. dtsa is $$$$ when it comes to food and beverage for the most part. 4th street market is another option but it's usually pretty packed.
update: our full line up of talent now includes-
eXtine, kaidus, getawhale, ma3la, truktruk, the fragile, bren, dreamboat, mr. slin, with observers mathsad and tino
this is a top tier lineup and we're very excited to see you in 2 weeks!
purely from an aesthetic standpoint i can't stand when they put that lip underneath your thumb. people must love it because it's on tons of mice, but it's not for me.
ebudI might be going IF I wanted to play tf2 there, should I bring a keyboard and mouse??
Who else gonna be there, if so HMU
Yup! It's $15 for a weekend lan pass (fri/sat/sun), we encourage everyone to bring your own peripherals, but we do have some for rent (free of charge).
Heads up for the lan passes, pc availability is first come first serve, and there will be many reserved for the tournaments. Friday and Sunday are probably your best days.
saamsamifaceStevieDoes anyone know if there will be 144hz monitors?
We were hoping we would have some in time for this lan for the open teams but unfortunately that's not the case. If you want to bring you own you can, we'll try to move you as little as possible.
Wait what the fuck? Really!?
That's fucking retarded
Invite's going to be taken care of but open isn't going to happen, sometimes things change/are out of my direct control.

ColemanAny one got a rough idea of teams in the open cup?
kilaz-iwnw-I took the liberty of making a spreadsheet of all Open Tournament teams. PM me your team's roster and team name so I can put you on. I will be adding them as often as possible. Don't expect the most immediate response.

edit: atm there are only 3 teams registered for open, and with the youstake fundraising cut the current prizepool is $650 and growing. the finals won't be on stage but as the pool gets bigger it's worth playing :)
We are interested in the 45 minute ruleset, it was legitimately just a question of time. In the end the most important thing to everyone involved is that all the teams be fairly seeded on LAN.... also the stage is being shared with other events. We've had to remove the Open finals from the stage already just to get as much invite TF2 on stream for people as we possibly can.
UPDATE: Anyone with questions concerning huds/config-
For Rewind, we've decided to allow flash drives for huds+configs. Be aware that if you use this method our staff have the right to review it for any reason. We're looking to get players up and running in the shortest time possible, so if you're able to come by Friday and try out the pcs/make sure everything is working for you that would be ideal.
