mglad all of you could join us
dont play quake, sorry, try again.
And yeah, old news basically. Rumours have it that "just" going standalone won't be the only change that's coming tho: http://www.esreality.com/post/2470505/syncerror-talks/
mgood news for all 19 people that still play
funny that a game with that much less players gets so much better viewership and tournaments + prizes
2nutsu wanna go skeej?
i aint no hustler anymo
come play from my house with kaidus, computers and victory blunts will be standing by
So the only issue with playing sunday onwards is that kaidus is in sweden? For a whole week? Im probably not seeing the issue but why not just play from 2nuts house then? inb4 "laptop is bad", cmon, I trust 2nuts can hustle a pc from somewhere...
All of these arguments have been put forth 10000s of times already.
Even if you manage to shrink the gap between pub and comp play, TF2 is still too complex to spectate.
It works OK for experienced players, because they use their own frame of reference to figure out what the hell is going on when watching a stream, but for people who are barely experienced with TF2 or are pub regulars, it's really hard to appreciate the game other than "wow that was a nice headshot, woooh double airshot, etc". Inexperienced spectators can only appreciate individual frags, which, when taken out of context, can't be differentiated from any big pub play moment. Comp play becomes entirely meaningless and hard to "care" about by non comp or non high-level players, which is what you want to build an audience.
stabbyhookyI would still do an fps cap, if your computer renders above 900 fps, then Source breaks. I have mine set to 500.Hm, yeah, I see no downside to such a high cap. Might as well.
How does the Source engine "break"?
I don't know in what different ways it can break, but if you play a map on localhost the game just speeds up, as if you're messing with host_timescale.
Decently known, but maybe not to some: Gravity Bone ( http://blendogames.com/older.htm ). All his games are really good actually!
Cool to see some TF2 there, curious to see if some noname manages to put down a nice score in MGE vs one of the swedes. Maybe one of the Quakers will dare to try a game? Matrox? At least he knows how2arstref xd
QL will be sick... Too bad Cooller's dodging is too good for this DH.
SimGenetics and environment basically create the person you are; most of both of those is just luck.
Why feel pride for anything when we're just sacks of chemicals?
It all depends on what the definition of "pride" really is, and what you define as luck, choice, identity, etc.
There seems to be a growing opposition to hard determinism and incompatibilism in the philosophical and scientific communities. Hard determinism is too simple and debates an indefinable form of free will.
the point of this whole thread is enigmatic to me
FB2K for digital, Rega P3-24 for analog, Google Play Music for mobile

:DDDDDDDDDDD
Sounds great. I have no issues with the visual style as a whole! It's awesome to see someone try a fresh and colorful map again. It's always a hard task trying to make a good looking map and deviate too much from the standard 5cp style and still satisfy the comp players (cp_croissant).
I think most people won't mind if you keep the geometry detail and props but make clipping and bullet blocking smoother and more forgiving. Then, for players, it's just a matter of getting familiar with the clipping, and all will be fine.
