If you're going to do something like keep on an admin after he's been VAC banned, you can't be sneaky about it. You can't delete threads. You've got to stand up, be counted and say "I'm keeping this person on because 'x', it's my decision, end of discussion", and then take all the criticism you receive (even on your own forum) entirely on the chin. That way people can either hate you or agree with you. All they're doing now is alienating everyone with common sense. If they said "hey he cheated and got VAC banned, but hes an ace admin so we're keeping him on", I'd personally be quite comfortable with that.
UGC has always bothered me as a league. Like every other league in TF2 was just founded by people who'd played other games competitive or even been involved with leagues in those games, so you've had this progression and inheritance of rules, best practices, standards, etc. There are reasonable expectations and the way that things should be dealt with is known.
UGC has always just seemed like "hurr durr we like hl sign up on our websit plz".
When he calls you babe
+1 to the notion that good shirts ain't cheap.
I'm working on this for the new TFTV assets. I actually made that scoreboard when I was part of VTV (it's just a little program with a seperate window for change team names/score/map/etc), so don't worry. :P
(Also VTV keep putting it in the wrong place on the screen DJFKGHDFGJKFGFJLDHjiogjklfghjkfsdglj)
I shot their tournament director a tweet, I'll see what I can do.
A couple of thoughts:
1) Having a poll on the screen just just too much clutter, so you need to work out a tasteful way to do it. It's surprisingly difficult (I do think GD Studio did an excellent job but they also have gear that we don't).
2) Does anyone really use them? Multiplay actually had a live poll system for i43 and i45, but they only got like ~5 votes every time they were used, even during the final with 3k+ viewers.
3) What could you actually poll on? As said above, TF2 is a really fast-paced game, so it'd be quite difficult.
Those people are there because they specifically want to see SC2, LoL or CoD. They are not there just to watch whatever arbitrary game is on.
The viewership numbers would need to increase by at least an order of magnitude before putting on major TF2 tournaments would be even in the realm of reasonable consideration.
CanFo is spot on. ESL won't do anything of note without a sponsor willing to invest big $$$.
Good movie overall, enjoyed it.
Couple of things though:
1) You had TF2's ingame motion blur on when you recorded this. Turn it off when you're using frame blending, that's what gives the clips that weird intensity.
2) The pacing didn't quite fit the music. You needed a little bit more time inbetween the frags. Also the zooms were fine but needed to be slower.
I've actually messed about with streaming QL. Bassically when I get around to doing TF2, it applies 100% to QL as well.
Jack Audio is impossible to use without a phd in linux audio engineering. Virtual Audio Cables is the way to go.
I don't want to come across as a dick here, but I'd consider myself to be someone who is fairly "in the know" about EU TF2, and I've never heard of you. To my knowledge you've never written anything for ETF2L (I couldn't even find your username there) and Bonk'd podcast is only like 4 episodes in with so-so viewership.
That's cool if you want to help out the scene and become known, but being involved with very little of note and then making a thread which can basically be tl;dr'd as "I'm a big deal AMA" isn't the right way to go about it.
