Microsoft will let you upgrade to Windows 10 for free, even if you're running a pirated version

In what may turn out to be an historic move in the battle against piracy, Microsoft's Terry Myerson has announced that the software vendor will allow all customers — whether they're running genuine Windows software or a pirated version — to upgrade to Windows 10 for free.

The move is clearly targeted at the Chinese market, where two-thirds of all PCs run pirated versions of Windows.

Good news for some of us, eh? Anyone running the preview build of Windows 10 have impressions on it?

i agree that it wasn't the main problem, but any 200 hour average joe with a pocket medic can't shut down the server anymore

just wanted to pose a question here: how old were you when you made your most nostalgic gaming memories?

I'm 19, and my fondest memories of gaming were from ps2/xbox/gamecube and GBA/DS games, because they were fresh and new when i was old enough to fully understand them, unlike the n64 games that were as old as I am. like watching the cutscenes in Final Fantasy X blew my mind. and when i found out they made a new Super Smash Bros (melee) and we all crowded around a tiny TV to drop our jaws a the character selection and the map choices. these days, the giant roster in smash 4 is expected instead of impressive...

i still love and remember N64 and SNES and PSX games (been on a huge emulator spree lately), but they don't have the same significance to me
