redbanI'm pretty sure only like 3 people use origin anyway
If you want to play any recent EA games (BF3, DS3, ME3, SimCity, etc), they force you to use Origin. That's pretty much why I haven't bought any EA games for a while.

I'm not sure that a ranking system would be very helpful or accurate because stats in TF2 are only of limited usefulness. Emphasizing stats encourages and rewards selfish play. Anyone can bait their team and have a good K:D, or take all the heals and do a lot of damage. If a medic or demo gets no protection from their team, they'll have bad stats through no fault of their own. A medic could have low deaths but never be healing the right people, or running away from every fight. etc etc
OblivionageI wanna start pugging as well but i'm sort of inconsistent. i finally got my dm to a good level and my gamesense is up there but i'm afraid i'll choke and get my team fucked over lol (i play pocket)
Don't worry about it, just play. You could always just explain to people that you're kind of new, then they might be more likely to help you instead of bitching at you for your mistakes.
FT is probably getting a little more flack than they should be, but they did make it seem like they were going to be streaming pretty consistently, and that kind of died off as the season progressed. That being said, they probably did stream more than mixup and bp. I really wish more invite players would stream, and not just when they're looking for LAN donations. Watching high-level scrims (and invite pugs to some extent) is 100x more interesting than watching low-level players or pubs/mvm/pug.na imo, and is probably more likely to draw people into the community.
#20 So basically, be an asshole? I guess that's a good strategy if you're interested in girls with emotional problems who enjoy getting treated like shit.
FearlessIf you want to take her out on a date, say at x time we're going to blah blah blah. Don't ask.
Holy shit if someone did that to me I'd never talk to him again.
I used to play with crespi somewhat frequently and he's always seemed like a pretty nice guy to me.
hookyShadows through walls: This is engine-level. It needs to be fixed not only at the competitive level, but the pub level as well. It's basically a somewhat limited wallhack that's perfectly legal to use (unless ESEA decides to ban shadows).
Could the walls be made thicker in the areas where shadows are a problem?
I don't know how much an in-game lobby system would help 6v6...most of the games would probably consist of 12 pubbers who know absolutely nothing about 6s and it would just be like a pub. 6s requires a lot of specialized knowledge that has to be learned from more experienced players (classes, rollouts, strategy, etc.). tf2lobby is kind of bad, but at least you usually get several people in each lobby who somewhat know what they're doing.
It would probably be good for highlander though since that is closer to what pubbers are used to, and maybe just knowing that 6v6 exists would get some people interested in it.
Bump, still looking for a season 14 team.
I think it would be helpful if some of the server names were shortened so you can actually tell what they are on the active servers list. For example, Fog's DM servers just show up as "TeamFortress.TV | Chica..." unless you hover over it.
A more uniform way of listing the servers might be nice too, e.g. "type | name | location (where relevant)".
I think they would be more interesting if they are invite-only--you would know who the players are, and it wouldn't be clips of people shitting on UGC Plastic players.
Yeah, there are definitely inaccuracies. Steam says I have 0 hours in some games I know I played. And I think Steam didn't start counting hours until 2009 or something like that, so anything before that isn't recorded.
