#481 ESEA's possible demise? in TF2 General Discussion

You're blaming the customers for the failure of a business.

#110 Titanfall BETA coming soon in Off Topic
kirbytomroadrunnerAlso, the movement is really useful when trying to take titans out on foot. Find an alley, double wall jump off both walls repeatedly, then land on a titan's back without him knowing you're there, then just start pounding away.

There should probably be more opportunities, but even now, it can make a huge difference.

the game tells you when someone rodeo'd your titan while you're in it

What I meant was, "without him knowing you're there in time". Doing major damage on a rodeo doesn't take much time.

So far the game has been WAY quicker and lighter on it's feet than I expected it to be. As soon as my next paycheck comes through, I'll be getting the pre-order.

Jumping from a rooftop to have your titan snatch you out of the air and throw you into the cockpit in the middle of a fight is something that is hard to do justice to in text-form.

#193 ESEA's possible demise? in TF2 General Discussion

I'm thinking that a lot of this is boiling down to blaming the consumers for the failings of a business.

BETAmax was better than VHS. Was it the consumer's fault that BETAmax died?

Upon seeing Killing's post, I'm totally down for asking my team about trying both leagues, but the reasoning that new players are killing TF2 by not going to ESEA is perplexing to me. One league reached out to us, and actively lobbied for our money, and the other didn't (until now).

I keep thinking I know SMB, but then I remember that SMB are the first 3 letters on my license plate. You should probably pick him up though

Jasbuttslondon_callingJasbuttsNever been to a Lanfest before, but interested in going. What sort of events go on over there? Are there tournaments, or just doing whatever?
most of it is doing whatever. PUGs and other games and then one day for the TF2 tournament. its a double elimination tournament that is more or less free for all depending on who is on each team. If you don't know a lot of people its possible to just find a team that needs more people and still play in the tournament.

Is there a skill level requirement for these? I'm honestly terrible and would probably be too shy. Watching the tournament sounds fun though!

Just play in the tourney. I played, and I'm probably worse than you are. Play, network, eat from a taco truck, and enjoy yourself.
