Yeah you didn't say she owed us anything but you implied it by calling her ego and pride into question and calling her decision "shitty". I don't need to reread your post to understand it.
testifyIt's pretty shitty just to shut it down for name-sake, pride and ego, there has to be a better alternative then just shutting them down completely klanana.
It's not shitty. She doesn't owe us anything. It is about pride, she hasn't made any argument against that. Pride can be a good thing. Klanana is/was iT, so having someone else running them wouldn't be iT.
Imagine if MJ had retired for good back in '97, that's what iT is doing now. She doesn't have the time for it so she's shutting down shop while she can still be proud of the product.
The only place where I can consistently have fun is the Top Notch Payload Rotation server. The Hyperion Rotation can serve as a nice substitute, but the genuine article is hard to beat when it comes to fun pubbing.
Tomorrow afternoon between 3pm and 6pm PST, I will be looking to Mann Up. If you already have me added and are down for playing at that time, hit me up! And if you want to play at that time and don't have me added, feel free to do so. I have a mumble we can use if desired.
I tried out your config just now, it's not actually as weird as people make it sound. Just sort of shifted, seems to fit a large hand pretty well.

Time I want to play: TOMORROW from 10am-6pm PST! Also, other times if I'm around, but mainly TOMORROW from 10am-6pm PST!
I've got 9 tour of duty tickets, I'm going to go until I get my gorramn killstreak Rocket Launcher. I've only got 1 tour finished on the new stuff.
If you're looking for an aggro Demo, Gatsby is good to go! Really deserves a team!
Awesome guy, good head on his shoulders about the game. Hope he can find a team!
By "your pyramid", I mean that right now the only arguments in pro of ESEA are applying to the upper echelon of Invite, from what I can see. The CEVO side is applying most of their campaign on the "base" of competitive TF2, Open and IM. So basically your argument that we are investing in a small group of people (AG and the CEVO admins) could be applied right back towards you (investing in trying to keep the top of Invite).
I'm not implying anything about you as a person, just countering the only arguments I've actually seen coming out of this.
squidsquidThere is a pretty common rule of thumb in venture capitalism - you don't invest in a 'person'.
just to clarify, this obviously means (in context) that if a particular person or people are too integral to the success of a business, then it is not a safe investment as their continuation with the work can never be guaranteed (hence the quotes around person)
sorry if this implied meaning was lost on anyone
Isn't the argument against CEVO basically investing in Invite to keep TF2 alive? So basically we are either choosing to believe in Nahanni and Pipher, or Invite. One side is advocating for more of us than the other. Implying that we are unintelligent because we are siding more for the side that is actually trying to do something for us is a little misguided.
We should stay in one place in order not to lose a couple of dozen people, who might just get bored of TF2 anyway? You should pay more attention to the base of your pyramid, if you don't, you're going to topple over.
The Last Continent is actually my next book, will probably pick it up tomorrow. I feel like I'm jumping back and forth through time, since I started with Night Watch, then Thud!, then Feet of Clay, then Fifth Elephant, and next The Last Continent. Considering the novels are already sort of timey-wimey, it hasn't really been too big of a deal yet, as far as I can tell.
It's been 4 months since I finally got around to digging into Pratchett's works. I'm 4 books in, and absolutely hooked. I've been following an odd chronology, since I'm sort of limited by my local library's selection, I'm in a small town and there is apparently another nerd around here that keeps snatching them up.
I've been working my way through the Vimes books, since he's such a fun character. Having a cop that is completely un-super dealing with extremely supernatural things makes for really interesting reading. My favorites so far are Thud and The Fifth Elephant.
Anyone else in the community a Pratchett nerd?
Shouldn't we wait until Tuesday at the soonest before we declare that CEVO won't have a LAN? The piggybacking angle is still of interest to me, and I'm assuming others would agree.
This whole "potential exodus" thing is a few days old, any current ideas are only a few days old as well.
