Not running a toaster? Enable r_renderoverlayfragment in your general config today! Now you, too, can understand what numbered doors your team is talking about, follow the directions left by the mapper, and find healthpacks and ammo that are already taken! Never again will you be the fifth person to say "no health" on a map with three lunchboxes per atrium!

a lot of tr_walkway's designs in the settings room/actual hallway suddenly make a lot more sense

#73 TF2 update for 7/8/15 (7/9/15 UTC) in TF2 General Discussion

I'd rather not repeat myself from topic to topic but: valve will likely remove picking up uber when they realize the group that's affected most negatively from it is newer competitive players, and that really isn't something they want when trying to show off their official competitive play to the general public

like, the handful of situations it'll matter at the top level isn't that big of a number, but I'm looking out more for the low-level novice medics that will get chewed out by their team because a single uber drop just made them lose the round while they were pushing towards last, all because they forgot to switch to slot1/3 in time and now their opponent got an uber push for free

in their defense, it doesn't really matter if it's a good change or not, a major change mid-season should be quick-banned regardless. figuring out changes is for between seasons, not while people are already going through one

#59 TF2 update for 7/8/15 (7/9/15 UTC) in TF2 General Discussion

"why change [stock weapon] when we've known it for so long" isn't really a viable argument anymore, now that it's clear that valve is okay with fiddling with whatever in the name of freshness. I mean, the uber game as we knew it is currently all up in the air after gun mettle let you take opponents' uber %, they're not just unafraid of messing with stock weapons, they're cool with changing entire core mechanics

I like the idea that demoman's old major flaw was that he was kind of an ammo sponge that constantly needed more ammo due to using them up so quickly, basing his problems around that could be neat

#17 Looking at these keyboards - any other suggestions in Hardware
PhunkAny particular reason why you want the numpad? Because I my experience it is far more comfortable and saves on space if I don't have it.

There are totally reasons to have numpads too though but that's just my 2 cents

I'm obviously not OP, but when scripting in tf2 it's nice to have a bunch of extra out-of-the-way keys to load certain configs for stuff I wouldn't want to manually type into the console, but I also don't want to hit accidentally, like viewmodel toggles and hud_reloadscheme

bastidSounds like Scout needs a nerf then? He's tricky because he's so bad when you're bad but so good when you're good

I feel as if making classes have even less DPM wouldn't be much of a help for the current 6s metagame, especially when, by nerfing scout, you have potential for people to bring out slower little-to-no-mobility classes regularly and make it an even bigger problem (especially if heavies ever become a regular thing, low DPM and high health characters is not a good outlook for the meta)

#126 Why it’s time to say goodbye to TF2Center in TF2 General Discussion
miwoim sorry i am a bit out of the loop on this but

then go and read up on all the other things that's happened with TF2C in the past week before immediately forming your opinion to the public

it's very clear you only barely skimmed through the story

#119 Why it’s time to say goodbye to TF2Center in TF2 General Discussion

general rule for any and all future tf2-centric competitive sites: as much of the framework as possible (if not all of it) should be open-sourced. that's the real major problem in this scenario, that by leaving a proprietary site with terrible staff, you're also leaving all the major functionality within it, because those awful admins happen to be the ones that hold all the code together

Daggerradius is pre nerf

I would hope this wasn't accidental and won't just be re-fixed next patch

alright, now several servers I'm on are supposedly having a problem wherein changing maps crashes the server?

dunno if that's because of this same problem or not

MoyCan you guys not go into a local server? I'm crashing whenever I try.

yep, trying to start up a local map causes an immediate crash. online servers seem to work fine tho

#32 Official KnucklesCrosses Release! in Customization

getting the crosshair in works just fine, but it has the same problem seemingly every other crosshair has had for me, which is that, no matter how I adjust the positioning or wide/tall, it's always one pixel off-center (and indeed, screenshotting and measuring each side from the center shows, in this case, that it's quite literally just a single pixel off every time). is there a way to fix that, or is that just one of the things you have to deal with when it comes to HUD crosshairs?

#73 UGC bans picking up dropped mediguns in TF2 General Discussion

I understand why one would see the ability to pick up uber as an interesting change, but from the standpoint of "competitive matchmaking is becoming a thing, better make things play a bit nicer for pubbers transitioning", this change definitely doesn't seem like the right way to do things.

I mean... new medics already get thrashed on hard if they drop uber. I can't imagine the response from their teammates in a scenario where their uber drop results in entire round losses because they didn't switch out slots in time. it takes an already-unattractive class to new players, and basically makes it look like the worst possible option to start out with.

other team had last point capped before 4th? i joined late so i didnt see when it happened, but when they capped 4th the game ended. couldnt see the cart either. no clue if its related to gun mettle or not
EDIT: it happened again. we were in setup and the cart just detonated for no reason

yeah that's an exploit. hi5 taunt on final payload point -> killbind once the animation finishes
